Hally's Hints

The Passion Within

Another day, another dollar is how the saying goes. We drag ourselves out of bed every morning to undertake the same role(s) day in day out. How many of us experience passion in what we do let alone passion throughout the day?

If someone were to ask you “what is your passion” what would you answer?

We fulfill what we need and often don’t think beyond that. We have ourselves believing that we can only think of the children, husband, wife and fulfilling a job to pay bills and put bread on the table. Once in a while perhaps afford a luxury. At the end of every day we are bursting from ourselves wanting to yell and scream but our duty is our steadfast and the screaming within is abated.

Before you realise the days turn into months and then years. You look at yourself in the mirror and barely recognize the person you once were. Your children look at you as a parent and not much else. For those that have teenagers you are constantly reminded that you don’t understand what it is to have a life when trying to provide discipline or at least a safe growing up environment. And really, do even remember what it was to ‘have a life’. Our days are taken up on providing for everyone and how often do we stop and provide something extra for ourselves. Ah, I can hear the words of “that would be selfish” – would it? Don’t you deserve it?

When you look at yourself in the mirror do you believe what you see or tell yourself that later, later you will have a proper look. Later you will do something for yourself.

We are all guilty at some point of neglecting ourselves believing that by being selfless we are saints or martyrs that will reap the rewards later. The fact of the matter is that we aren’t saints or martyrs; we merely deny ourselves what we deserve in order to exist and make excuses as to why we won’t fulfill that need. We continue to validate each day – there isn’t enough money, there isn’t enough time, and as each day blends into another you feel yourself slipping into a shell of what was.

Remember passion? That emotion of complete warmth and excitement. A feeling of no expectations and a connection with an intangible source bringing you back to that naïve feeling of innocence and complete peace. The passion that wells up in your heart so much that you can barely breathe from the elation. The passion that provided you with the courage and determination to undertake absolutely anything because you knew it was worth it.

This is not for those that are young. Passion is for those who allow themselves to feel young at heart, feel young in the sense of freedom, elation and complete connection without explaining how or why. It burns in our souls if we only listen. When was the last time you actually allowed yourself to feel it right through from your finger tips to your toes?

We all have a passion. Some may seem reckless and others secretive. It is our little thing that reminds us that no matter what happens during life, no matter what problem may come along, as problems always will, always feel alive with the passion that makes you, you. It doesn’t cost rather provides freedom within yourself. It is a gift that you can give to yourself every day and all those around you will benefit from the happiness it will provide you.

Passion is what stories of love and courage are made from. Why watch it on TV when it exists right now, right here in your heart and soul. Take a moment to sit back and remember the last time you felt your passion and the effect this had on you and the way you perceive everything around you. There is no doom and gloom only a warm sunny day here to embrace you. Feeling the passion within is the simplest thing – it is embracing you right now for you in all your beauty. There is nothing more magnificent or inspiring.

Embrace your passion and love to live your life, as you deserve and desire.
