Common sense is not very common, is it?

There are several schools of thought about working with the fae. One thought is just don’t do it; the Good Folk are tricksy, impossible to understand, and trafficking with them usually turns out badly–for the human. Another thought is that the fae are all goodness and light, flitting among the flowers just waiting to do errands and be your friend. My thought is that they are neither of these.

The Good Folk are Mother Nature’s primordial guardians, and have been here far longer than humans. Their nature is elemental and therefore can be sensed by those either born with the ability or willing to train their senses. Like any of the elements of nature, the fae can appear to be beneficial or harmful. I say “appear,” for a wild fire to us appears destructive and harmful, but is beneficial and necessary for some species of vegetation to reproduce.

Whether the fae will respond to you is not dependent upon saying words out loud or producing a specific energy field. However, your chances are enhanced if you treat the world and everything in it with kindness and respect. Your suggestions of silence and peace, gratefulness and gratitude, gifts given for gifts received, and rooting yourself in our Mother’s energy are all excellent.

When communication with a fae entity is achieved, you will have created an ally that will stay with you throughout your life. I have many fae allies and they have certainly made my life much more interesting. They meddle, love, annoy, teach, vex and keep me entertained, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
