- Modred is a solitary witch and happily married father of four, and grandfather of two, in Richmond, Virginia. He is the sworn enemy of all dogma, a connoisseur of greens cooked with ham hock, and a spiritual seeker since his first glimpse of the Dark Goddess at the age of six. As to the title of his column, he answers with the riddle, ”Where is the tree that bears the corn, and which the apple that wears the thorn?”
