Goddess Provisions

Boxes Fit for Goddesses,” is what GoddessProvisions advertise they carry. They would like to “Nourish your inner goddess and grow your spiritual practice.” Sounds interesting to me, now let’s see if they can deliver!

GoddessProvisions.com sells their boxes either monthly or as monthly subscriptions. A monthly box cost $33.00 and if you live within the USA, shipping is free.

My Box Arrives!!

You definitely know when your GoddessProvisions Box has arrived! It is a lovely, purple box with the companies logo on top. It’s website on one side.

As well as, a lovely quote of the boxes intentions covering another

…and other self promoting links cover the rest of the sides.

The bottom has the companies logo and some really cute doodles. The box does draw attention, but not in a witchy way. People will read the word Goddess, but I feel they will think of it more as something for just any woman, or for pampering. In other words, if you are in the broom closet, you are safe with this Box!

First Opening

Upon opening the box you can not help but smile at the cute doodles again! Everything is so neatly placed, you almost hate to disturb it! But I must dig in for the postcard I see poking through at the bottom.

The Postcard

The postcard I pull out is THE MOST professional catalog of inventory and information I have seen come with a subscription box yet. It is gorgeous. Laminated. Brightly colored. Includes every single item in the box. Does not leave out anything!! It shows you a picture of each item with a number next to it. The numbers are then on the back of the card and match to a paragraph about each individual item, explaining: what it is, how its used, it’s monetary value, and even how to get in contact with the creator of the item showing their logos. Completely thorough. I am blown away.

In my excitement about the brilliance of the table of contents, I forgot to mention that this GoddessProvisions Month’s Box theme is Aura Cleanse….”Radiate Light from Within.”

Aura Mist

Kate’s Magic Purification & Protection Aura Mist has a light aroma. It’s not an overpowering scent. Very soothing still. The scents inside are Sandalwood & Lavender, however I do not smell so much lavender. Stays true to the fact that it is a mist, so when it falls on your skin it does not leave a heavy or oily feel on it. More like a lovely cool sensation. They send a nice full sized bottle.

Seaweed Bath Co. Detox Facial Bar

All natural ingredients like seaweed, charcoal, & volcanic ash. This bar of soap is Vegan and cruelty free. It has 65 vitamins and minerals. It’s for gently exfoliating skin while washing away toxins from the environment. It says unscented, but I’m gonna be honest, it has a slight scent. Not an unpleasing one or pleasing one. Just a small scent. It lathered up nicely. Just like any other soap would. Most importantly how did it make my skin feel after washing? Really amazing. You know the tightness you get from a regular soap bar because it is very drying, so it leaves your skin feeling very taut on your face. You get none of that feeling with Seaweed Bath Co.’s Bar, yet you still feel completely fresh & clean. Twenty minutes later my skin still felt soft, clean, yet more moisturized then usual. No oily spots anywhere, either.

Jade Facial Roller

Jade is a wonderful stone of health and healing revered in China. By rolling the Jade Facial Roller over your face your circulation is increased in your skin while promoting lymphatic drainage & releasing toxins. Facial muscles relax and collagen is stimulated, improving elasticity. All the while reducing fine lines, dark circles, & Puffiness.

GoddessProvisions.com provides a website on their postcard that teaches you the proper way to use your new beauty & relaxation tool. Written instructions, a drawing, and a video are provided.

Provided is a beautiful solid jade roller. It looks heavier then it is, but it is by no means flimsy. At first is it cold on the face and a bit hard and shocking. A bit squeaky. The massage it gives your face is lovely. The feeling is relaxing. Only time will tell if it does all it says, but the quality is definitely there.

Munde Fragrance

Pax Apothecary Munde Vibrational Fragrance is the companies own blend of essential oils in a glass, roller ball dispenser bottle. The scents included are bergamot, carrot seed, cedarwood, lavender, lemongrass, and saro. You are to roll this blend onto your pulse points to clear energetic blocks so you can pursue your purpose. Very fragrant. Not my personal choice of smell. A bit pinsesol & lemon drops to me. Maybe to manly for me. But it’s strong, good quality oil. Not a weak blend. The scent lasts a long time. My husband enjoys the scent and tested it and it’s longevity for us.

Rose Detox Tea

Essential Life Detox Tea ingredients include organic ginger, dandelion root, tulsi & lemongrass. This is a loose tea. It has a sweet, earthy flavor. Very delicious taste and I am picky with my herbal teas. It is for purifying your energy field and cleansing your body from the inside out. It leaves you feeling very relaxed after drinking with a nice after taste on your tongue. The packaging gives you instructions for ratio and & steeping.

Decorated Selenite Heart

Fractalista Selenite Heart has a gorgeous design laser-etched onto it. It is very fragile. A great tool for energy workers. Used over your Chakras in times of anxiety, stress, or depression. It absorbs excess emotions and breaks up energy blockages and cleanses your aura.

My Over All Impression…

These definitely are “Boxes Fit for Goddesses.GoddessProvisions.com definitely delivers a box that pampers the Goddess in us all. The products are of amazing quality. Solid, full sizes, working, delicious, beautiful, & lasting. Just about every item comes with a full explanation on it, but if it doesn’t there are no worries because the beautiful postcard GoddessProvisions provides explains it all. Instructions on what it is used for, the name of the company, links to the company, even links to instructional videos on how to use the products. They really cover all angles so there is no confusion on the buyers part. I would definitely recommend purchasing a box from GoddessProvisions. The quality it amazing.

Unfortunately we do not have our usually Q & A with the company, but I thought I would provide a little more on what GoddessProvisions offers.

Book Review: Spirit Relations by Bill Duvendak

Spirit Relations by Bill Duvendak

I found this book to be a refreshing change from the many books I’ve read on the topic of psychic and mediumship development. The author Bill Duvendak has the unique perspective of being someone experienced with energy work which gives the reader an entirely different view into the process and tools we can use to develop the tools we need to connect with spirit. He starts with a basic overview of the Clairs as most books on development do, but then goes far beyond and into the aura and chakra system. He discusses the pineal gland and its part in accessing and opening the psychic portals. With each step along the way he shares practical exercises to increase abilities and deepen awareness.

The author also is of the opinion as are many psychics and mediums that while some come into the world with better aptitude anyone with the desire can develop their abilities. This may help those who are hanging on the fear or belief that some are “gifted” and others are unable to connect at the same level. I don’t think I have ever read a more thorough book on development written from a pagan perspective. Mr. Duvendek takes into account and discusses things we don’t normally find in development books such as astrological factors, working with gatekeeper guides, our bodies as vessels and caring for them. He also treads where most will not dare to in that he discusses not only interacting with the highest vibrational beings but lowering vibration to interact with the lower forms of energetic beings. Something he reserves for only the most practiced and experienced workers.

I found his perspective, exercises and obvious knowledge to be an enlightening surprise from the same old, same old books; and as someone who is an energy worker and psychic medium very thoughtfully written. For those coming from a background of energy work, craft and psychic development this book is one worth taking a look at if you are considering deepening your work in mediumship or any psychic work.

Hand Fasting Gifts

Merry meet.

While couples planning weddings take advantage of gift registries at every place from The Home Depot to Crate and Barrel, couples who are hand fasting may appreciate a more pagan, creative and personal approach to gift giving.

At the urging of others, one couple I know visited their favorite pagan store and with the owner’s cooperation, made a list of items they liked. Those who wanted could look at the list and choose something without stressing over second guessing which book, what incense or the best color for an altar cloth. By the owner maintaining the list, it was helpful to know, for instance, someone had already gotten the wooden box with the pentacle on top.

(This box is available at magicraftshop on etsy.  You can view it by clicking HERE.)

Those who prefer to craft a gift have many options pagans will positively prize.

(There are a variety of ribbons to be found.  From the craft stores to your local dollar stores.)

If the couple is not making their own cord, you might want to craft it. It can be braided from ribbons with charms attached.

(These are just a few Pagan themed Charms you can use.)

Those wanting a challenge can try the five-string braid. In addition to ribbons, lace, trims and drapery cording found in fabric stores, and strings of beads found in craft stores can be incorporated. For a fall ceremony, consider wearing in a string of dried corn kernels, or strings of tiny shells for a hand fasting on the beach. Figure a finished length of at least six feet so that it can be wrapped around the wrists and knotted three times. If the number of people attending is small, you might organize its making by having each guest contribute the desired length of ribbon, lace, etc. Charms and color themes can be considered. As part of the ritual, they would be woven together with everyone’s intentions for a loving relationship.

(These handfasting brooms are available at BROOMCHICK on etsy.  You can view them by clicking HERE.)

A common hand fasting tradition is jumping the broom, making that another gift that would be welcomed. It can be purchased or made from twigs or other botanicals attached to a branch. It would then be decorated with lace, ribbons, flowers and other embellishments. Afterwards, the couple can hang the broom above a door or a mantle.

(Hand painted wine glasses.)

Painting champagne flutes or a chalice are other gifts that could be used as part of the hand fasting ceremony.

(Flower crown & hair pieces.)

Crowns for the couple can be made from flowers, leaves, antlers, feathers, vines, shells, handles from spoons and forks, or crystals – or any combination. If a man would rather wear a medieval style hat or even a top hat, it could be decorated with the same types of materials.

(Homemade, dressed talisman candle.)

What pagan ever has enough candles? You don’t have to be pouring wax to make a spell candle for the couple, you can start with any candle you choose, and using a selection of oils, chants, intentions, carvings and Reiki, turn it into a one-of-a-kind gift.

(This Grimoire is available at TheMadamePhoenix on etsy.  You can view it HERE.)

Smudge sticks, incense, tea blends and decorated journals are other ideas.

(The Magical of Crafting Charm Bags comes out on Oct. 1, 2017. Click link on bottom of page to pre-order.)

I happen to like making mojo bags, and would consider making one for the couple with herbs, stones, a miniature tarot card or two, runes and other objects holding my intentions.

These are just a few ideas for making a hand fasting gift both crafty and Craft-y. I’m sure there are many more.

Merry part. And merry meet again.

Musings of a Massachusetts Witch

November, 2011

Are You Gifted?

Recently, I was having a discussion with a friend concerning the concept of gifts and talents; are the words interchangeable or do they mean different things? And while we didn’t really come to a conclusion it left me contemplating the idea. I found that it was more complex than I first imagined and many people have set ideas on this concept that I don’t personally subscribe to.

The first thing I considered was what each word meant. For this I turned to my trusted friend, Merriam-Webster. She is always my go-to gal when contemplating the meaning of words. I strongly believe that words and names hold power so for me, understanding what a word means is extremely important and necessary. Merriam revealed to me that the meaning of ‘gift’ is: a quality, endowment or talent that is given to an individual without compensation. And the word ‘talent’ means a natural endowment of a person, a characteristic feature, aptitude or disposition of an individual.

Yes, these definitions gave me pause. If a gift is something that is given and since we were discussing the non-physical (divination, healing, clairvoyance, and the like) then who is the person/entity/power that is giving this ‘gift’ to the individual possessing it? Does this imply that there is a God or Higher Power that is bestowing these ‘gifts’ to people? And if so, do all people possess ‘gifts’? Or are some individuals ‘gifted’ while others are not? And if that is so, doesn’t that create an elite class of ‘special’ or ‘entitled’ people? Does God or Creator or Higher Power really work that way? It is and was my belief when I was a Christian that we are all (created) equal.

I was even more curious at this point so I sat down at my computer and went online to do some research. I was interested to find what other opinions were on the topic. Interesting enough I discovered that there are some common beliefs pertaining to ‘gifts’ versus ‘talents’. The first being that the majority of people discussing the difference between gifts and talents were Christians. Second, they believed that gifts were sacred and originated with God and were given to individuals through The Holy Spirit. Third, they believed that only Christians were given such ‘gifts’ and all abilities that non-Christians possessed were considered ‘talents’. They also believed that ‘gifts’ were to be used for the Glory of God and to minister to others while ‘talents’ could be used for non-spiritual things. And lastly, they all agreed that ‘talents’ were natural inherited abilities that could be developed with knowledge, training and practice.

Well, now that gave me pause. There was a lot there that I do not agree with but it really helped me solidify what I did believe in regards to ‘gifts’ and ‘talents’. I can understand to some degree the Christian beliefs however I do not agree. Allow me explain why.

I believe that we all are God/dess and are a part of God/dess. We are deity manifested in the physical and being so we have access to everything that is, that was and that can be. We are limitless beings that have limitless ‘gifts’ and ‘talents’ however, because there is no power greater than We there is no Higher Power to give us what we want. We already have access to it. We already possess it. You have it. I have it. My friend has it. Even the Christians have it. We are all equal. We are all sacred. We are all divine.

I do believe that we all have different life experiences and through them we find ourselves interested or drawn to certain aspects or abilities more so than others. I believe that as we travel our life path we make choices that shape our likes and dislikes and at some point we may find that we enjoy a particular activity. We enjoy it so much that we repeatedly practice it or spend a lot of time and energy doing it. We enjoy it. Doing it makes us happy and connects us stronger to Universal Source (God/dess) and while we participate in this activity we become inspired and because of this … we are good at it. It is our calling. It is our ‘gift’ or our ‘talent’.

Now I know someone is going to read this and think … well, I have this ‘gift’ that makes me uncomfortable or scares the doggy doo out of me and I don’t want it, I don’t want to use it or practice it. Well, my belief on that (and you don’t have to accept it) is this: Fear is based on the physical plane – not on the spiritual one. What is it you are truly afraid of? Let it go. You are a powerful sacred being. There is nothing to be afraid of. You are God/dess. You are part of God/dess – part of ALL that is, ALL that was and ALL that will be. Why do you fear? That ‘gift’ is something that you have ultimate control of. Release your ego. Remember that you are more than your physical body. Do not be afraid. You are not alone. You are never alone.

So are you gifted? I say, “Yes. Yes you are. And so am I.”
