Mystic Thoughts

I recently gave myself permission to go ahead and buy the "Back Roads of Texas" paperback book. I’ve had the link saved in my browser for some time now. Just decided to go ahead and do it. I want to travel. Texas is a big state, and it would be a waste if I didn’t see some of its beauty. Did you know that there’s canyons and apparently some sort of "spectra lights in the sky", all in the State of Texas? These are things I would like to see, to explore. I have found myself "jumping in with both feet" with many things here lately. Could it be that I’ve had a revelation? An epiphany with things and situations around me? In the past two months, I have bought a new laptop, loveseat, book, gifts for others… I’m usually more practical with my time and money. Hymph. Could be a "money-spendin" phase. It feels good to spend money, though most of the time I find myself at home, saving it all for a rainy day, for the future!

So, Spring is upon us! For us Texans, we really never had a full-on winter, so unfortunately, our Spring is starting to feel like our Summer already! What does Spring give us? Spring gives us pretty flowers and blossoming trees, everything becomes lush and radiant all over again. Mother Nature springs to life again, giving us the divine balance of our precious Earth. Springtime is Easter-the rebirth of Christ, it is also Beltane. It is my Birthday (May 1st), Mother’s Day, Graduations, and Memorial Day, and it is all very wonderful!

Now that Springtime is here, and soon (hopefully), I will be humming the tune of "April Showers" from the movie Bambi, I hope to actually get out and enjoy the sights and the scents. I’ll have my book soon, and there are many places I do want to explore. Thinking and Doing are two completely different things when it comes to me, but I will force myself to try anything once, to re-open my mind like it was when I was younger, to remember my own creed of "You’re never too old to feel young". I need to grasp that, embrace it, because one day I looked in the mirror and found that I was getting too stuck in my ways, in that proverbial growing older rut. I will not let that happen to me! I’m not even 30 yet!

So I urge all of you computer junkies out there, to get out and enjoy Mother Nature and all her glory. When you’re outside, don’t just be outside. Be thankful for all that you have and all that Mother Nature is, bask in the sun, close your eyes and feel her around you. Smile and be thankful for the trees, and their shade. When I feel that it has been too long for me, I make a point to go to the nearby park, and with a book or tablet in tow, I sit underneath a shade of a tree, and listen and look at all the beauty Mother Nature bestows upon us.

We are going through political differences, a war, loved ones are constantly being sent away to possible certain deaths, air pollution is among us, some people can’t even go outside on a high polluted air quality day…. We don’t know how long we have on this earth. With all this adversity: People going out and getting a gun and carrying it around like a cell phone, people who drive while talking on their cell phones and don’t pay attention to how badly they’re driving, for all those unknowing women who get caught up in tangled web with rapists, murderers, thieves, we just don’t know how long we have. There’s no way to tell. So, get up and get outside. Enjoy your senses, for at least 5-10minutes a day. Remember to give thanks to the Little Things in Life each day.

This is all from Mystic Thoughts…. Until next time!

I am a horrible procrastinator, with a horrible memory! But, I still try, still forge ahead, with everything that I do.. I’d like to share with you all some places I have had the joy to eat out at.

*Lone Star Antiques Tea Room. They’ve recently moved their location from the Rufe Snow/NE Loop820 area, to just north of NE Loop 820 on Denton Hwy.(where the Sutherlands used to be). I, myself, LOVE antique rooms, and the little tearooms nestled inside most of them. Their sandwiches may seem a little on the pricey side, but its well worth the trip! They’ve got this excellent fruit dip that is a tangy, strawberry treat to your taste buds!

*Magnolia Tea Room on the SE side of the Downtown square in Graham, TX. They’ve got the Vegetarian Delight sandwich that I absolutely adore, as well as the yummy fruit dip that the Lone Star tea room has as well. Among my friends and family, the chicken salad sandwich gets excellent reviews as well.

*Saltgrass Steak House, located next to the Fossil Creek theater and I-35N, going towards the Texas Motor Speedway and Denton, TX. The service was excellent, facilities were clean, and the food was wonderful!

I highly recommend any of these places for good eats. If you’re in the mood for a yummy sandwich and side of fruit, or excellent grilled shrimp and barbeque ribs, then go grab a sandwich at a tearoom or barbeque at Saltgrass!

Let’s see, oh, I’ve changed up a few things at my online store. If you would like to go and check things out there, type in your address bar:

I once heard that on an equinox day, you can stand up an egg.. I tried it, nah, didn’t work for me. So, who knows?

Well, this concludes another day in the life of Mystic Thoughts. Hope you all enjoyed it, have a nice day!
