Inner
Creates Outer

‘Inner creates outer’ is the only phrase my inner druid guides have repeated in my visions over many years. Usually they say nothing at all but simply stand waiting for me when I enter the spirit world, then silently lead me to a stone circle or nature sanctuary and let the transformative vision prepared for me unfold on its own. But this one phrase has been repeated at significant moments of budding awareness through all 38 years of my druid journey. Clearly, druids who remain silent 99% of the time want me to know this particular truth to my very core, inner creates outer. And whenever it’s whispered as a vision unfolds within my mind, I can feel this truth resonating through my heart and anchoring in there ever more deeply. A few words spoken in a surround of stillness carry great power!

But this teaching didn’t become real to me until I went to energy school 23 years ago. Our light-healing teacher kept saying how everyone’s own fear beliefs are created into their individual lives, most of those beliefs from past lives, completely unconscious, but repeated in the present time. He stressed the need to read shadow energies until we understood the belief our clients had once taken on. And then we drew this belief into the light of love in our hearts, until it simply melted back into light and was gone. Poof! The utter simplicity and magic of healing. But what completely astonished me afterwards was to watch the spirit world methodically clean up all reflections of recently-healed beliefs in my own and my fellow students’ outer circumstances. I was literally astounded to see living proof that inner does in fact create everyone’s outer world and how easily these outer ‘realities’ could be changed with inner healing work. That time in my life was extremely painful, and realizing I could change my outer misery by healing myself within drew me to my path as nothing else could.

Little
did I know that it would take so long, that those past life beliefs
would quickly change into beliefs from my clients’ or my own
descent through seven heavens, down from the Creator Sun, the highest
world, to earth, the very lowest. Over all these years, though, my
own and my clients’ worlds have cleared of difficulty, slowly,
piece by piece, spirit guides carefully cleaning up outer fear
reflections after every single inner healing. Our dreams have grown
bigger, too, more and more aligned with Love and the will of heaven.
My very biggest dream is this; that everyone everywhere across the
planet will learn to heal their own inner fears and persist on a path
of transformation just like mine, because all of us together create
what happens on the global stage. I know in the depths of my being
that humanity can, and someday will, heal every fear-based outer
creation there is. And the spirit world will devotedly take away all
the dark reflections that ever were; greed, poverty, corruption,
murder, rape, war, insanity, illnesses of all kinds, and on and on.
Earth will become the reflection of the highest heaven she was always
meant to be, Paradise, a land of true-love partners living in beloved
communities, all in service to the One Beloveds, Goddess and God.
Does this sound too far-fetched to be real? I know it’s
possible, that it’s not so very far away, either, despite the major
troubles which surround us all right now. THIS is the true
power of ‘Inner creates outer.’ This knowing is the most
important one there is
(well, except for “Your heart is bigger
than any darkness,’ perhaps, the only other phrase they’ve
repeated over the years, whenever I’m tempted to close my heart
down instead of embracing some seriously disgusting or horrific fear
energy I’m working on long enough to transmute it back into love.)
Inner creates outer! I want to shout it from the rooftops
sometimes, so everyone will understand and turn inward to begin this
magical process. (Now that would surprise my neighbors, if
their reclusive, meditative, druid lady began hollering from the
shingles! But I AM tempted at times, I must admit!)

There
is another important piece I want to add here. For in the druid
courses and ceremonies I’ve studied or attended, this knowing is
completely absent. And it disappoints me every time. There are 16
light structures in that seventh heaven, which I was taught in
thorough and prolonged detail on my path up through them. The highest
light structure is the Creator Sun, home of God/Goddess and the place
every one of us was originally created from. It is this sun which
creates the inner worlds, those many planes of light we are
all ascending, plus every being’s inner spirit or
personality. Every person’s personality is made up of twelve basic
parts, each a reflection of one of the gods or goddesses in the
Creator Sun (Goddess, God, divine infant girl and boy, father of the
mind, mother of the mind, virgin girl, virgin boy, father of action,
mother of action, little girl and boy). So, everyone’s inner spirit
has these same basic divisions, each part with very specific
directives and regencies in every life. For instance, if a person is
at work earning a livelihood, his or her inner father is lit up, for
that’s what the father part of the spirit is responsible for,
regardless of which outer type of body that spirit may be
inhabiting.) And it’s through these inner levels that all
creativity is born and flows forth. The inner spirit is also
the Source of both Love and healing, for those powerful regents of
the Creator Sun flow through each and every one of us. And the spirit
is highly, highly creative! It’s the diamond spark in the
very core of each heart that creates all individual love and fear
beliefs into our own little worlds (and to a lesser degree, what
occurs across the planet). Inner creates outer! Two light
structures below the Creator Sun is the Stillpoint Center, which
looks like an eye. This light structure takes the directives of the
Creator Sun and creates them into the outer worlds across the cosmos.
So, it’s primarily focused on the outer world. The Four Directions
circle of gods and goddesses is the central core of the Stillpoint
Center, surrounded by the circle of Zodiac Elders. And between those
two circles are the three great rays of aspect, which split the four
basic spirit divisions of inner mother, father, girl, and boy into
twelve, i.e. the Zodiac regents. These rays of aspect are the three
descending rays that many druids revere. And all of these are in the
Stillpoint Center, with its focus on the outer world. The inner
spirit
regents with their creative power are totally missed
here! Inner creates outer! The origin and flow for everything
there is
streams down from the Creator Sun into the small central
eye of the Stillpoint Center, and all those SC regents are in full
service to it. Period. (See the first book of my trilogy, Alba
Reborn, the Revised version, for a complete discussion of the
regents of the Creator Sun and Stillpoint Center)

The
eight high holy days of the druid year are also portals during which
the inner spirits of everyone across the cosmos opens each year as
follows: Christmas dawn/divine infants, both girl and boy; Imbolc,
little girl; Vernal Equinox, little boy; Bealtain, virgin girl;
Midsummer, virgin boy; Lughnasa, mother (action); Autumnal Equinox,
father (action); Samhein, grandmother (elder mother of the mind),
Midwinter (elder father of the mind). And following those holy days,
we each have six weeks of growth of that particular part of our
spirits every year. But again, in the ceremonies I’ve attended and
the courses I began, these spirit openings and inner connections are
completely missing. I must say this bothers me greatly!
Greatly! (Though I definitely do NOT want to get into a big
conflict with any other groups here and am not trying to say I am
better than anyone at all. I just think this point needs to be made.)

How
do I know all this?, you may ask.I simply sat and felt the
living spirit of those holy days. And all the 20 years of
reading and research I did before that only left me more confused
than when I began, too many gaping holes, and even more distortions.
Druidry is a Goddess path. It’s Her spiritual stream
on earth. And She wants us to connect in the now with the
living breathing power of spirit. Sit down, for goodness sake,
clear your mind, and open your heart. That’s how I learned
everything of value I know. It’s time to open our sense of the
inner, to tap into the power and flow of spirit and
Creator Love. It’s well past time, if you ask me, for only
this will bring forward the healing of the earth and transmute all
those shadows into real love at along last. I say, let the days of
spirit power and the reign of love that’s been promised from time
immemorial begin.

The Astonishing Powers of Intuitive Healing

There are four amazing gifts of healing by simply ‘reading’ the energy or spirit in a person’s aura using intuition and inner sight, gifts I think would help virtually everyone to understand. The first is the ability to tap into the unconscious in moments. As a clinical psychologist, I was trained in the old therapeutic talking method. This means walking clients through memories, often from childhood, in order to bring forgotten fears into awareness. This is because any event that is pushed out of an individual’s consciousness is locked in. Growth from new experiences and healing efforts cannot reach it. Only when the fear is brought back into awareness can the mind apply all that has been learned in the intervening years and choose a new and far more appropriate belief. As a therapist, this was always a magical moment, watching those mental wheels of change whirring away.

But it often took a year or two to talk an individual through their inner barriers to reach core memories that were seriously impacting their lives, like peeling off the layers of an onion to the first moment a mistaken belief was taken in. So, in energy school, I was thrilled to observe that focusing on a shadow energy, reading the memory stored there through intuition or inner sight and telling what I’d seen or felt, brought the memory to awareness in fellow students in seconds. This simple shift convinced me to switch to an energy healing method in my therapy practice immediately. And in the 22 years since, it has never failed, a vastly more accelerated (and cost-effective!) method than the old way, the speed of light brought into therapy!

If you have never ‘read’ energy at all, then start by playing with it. Go up to a tree or flower, perhaps, and close your eyes. Don’t touch it, just be close enough to feel its aura, about 4 or 5 inches away. Then open your mind and heart and feel it. There are vast differences between the tree spirits, for instance, that I never discovered until I tried this, spruces quite protective, with almost a policeman type feeling to them, pines like a warm and welcoming mother reaching for her children. See for yourself. It’s a whole new world! Just try this for a while, and it will reactivate your heart’s intuitive and your third-eye’s visual powers. Then, when you are ready to try healing something, sit down and close your eyes. Run your hand about one inch above your skin until you feel a place of shadow, weakness, or coldness, perhaps, where it just doesn’t feel as full of life as everywhere else. Then, focus on that place and let images come into your mind’s eye or feelings into your heart. It may be a bit vague at first, but with practice, you’ll get a definite reading of what is held in that shadow spot. It took me about 2 weeks, with ten minutes of practicing on trees and other simple things, to begin to get very clear and detailed pictures in my third eye of past life events. But some of the people I have in workshops never get pictures like this, because they have entirely different ways of accessing information in spirit form. Usually such folk feel many fewer details than I do, getting a general sense of the shadow energy in their hearts. And that’s good enough. (A very few people I’ve worked with get their intuitive understandings through scent or sound, which I haven’t a clue how to do.) So just understand that you have your own natural way of reading the spirit of things around you and trust that. It’s right for you.

The second phenomenal power of energy work is how easily shadows or fears can be transmuted into light. In my own way of healing, I imagine my client’s (or my own) shadows moving into the core of my heart, a bright white light there that my guides call ‘the creator flame or diamond light’. My druid guides tell me that our imagination is strong enough to actually move quarks, and this is the level such healings are taking place. This diamond light is a small dazzling star that sits right in the center of the four lobes of the heart, the highest vibration in the human bioenergy field, by far (or the universe, for that matter, for it’s a tiny piece of the highest light structure in the seventh heaven, God and Goddess in union). All shadow energies melt instantly into this diamond light, like watching a little cloud disappear in the sky. I was skeptical at first, but again, over many years, this method has consistently resulted in effective change in students, clients, and myself. Even horrific memories of war or childhood abuse cleared in moments, and I’ve never taken on any residue of another’s fears by bringing them into my heart, either. But there are a lot of levels to be ascended through, so another piece of the same fear might show up later on. In every lifetime, we move through all the fears we took on during our once-upon-a-time descent from the highest heaven to earth. You might heal a fear up to the fourth heaven level, say, and then need to heal the rest of it when you get up to the sixth or seventh heaven in your soul climb. And there is a core fear that’s wrapped into all the others, so that, too, will linger in various forms and permutations all the way along. There are many ways of bringing shadows into the light these days. But no matter what method is preferred, it’s still incredible to think that a fear that has plagued an individual for many years (or lives, or eons!) can be transmuted in the twinkling of an eye. This healing is wizard work, for sure!

But by far, the most miraculous effect of spirit healing is realizing that each individual’s unconscious fears hold the circumstances of her or his outer life in place, and that these patterns can change for the better, simply by inner healing. This becomes very, very clear to anyone doing healings on a regular basis as the spirit world takes all reflections of the recently-healed fears out of each person own little world, annoyances and irritations disappearing within a day. Poof, forever gone! This was one of the basic tenets of energy school. But being told does not compare to the wonder of watching a client’s life shift out of suffering after a healing. My own life has changed radically over the many years I’ve made inner healing a daily practice. But it’s also important to understand that there are many, many fears and lessons to be learned. It’s not instant joy, but a process of gradual growth, the emergence of deep and divine aspects of oneself, and the embodiment of wisdom.

When I used the old talking method, only current life memories ever surfaced. And even after years of traditional therapy, with dedicated hard work by both me and my clients, core structures of my clients’ personalities still didn’t change. But by using an energy method that allowed past life memories to be accessed in seconds, suddenly old and deep, and really core parts of my clients’ personalities began to shift. And the fully actualized self, the inner divinity with a personal passion for global change and hopes of a high and holy destiny, did not begin to emerge at all, until memories of that individual’s descent from heaven to earth began to be healed (not until they reached the fourth heaven in their spirit climb, actually). I think this is the truest and most startling power of intuitive healing, the ability to change one’s outer ‘reality’, to find real and lasting freedom from all the fears that plague our lives. It’s because that diamond light in the heart’s core holds a creator essence. So, it creates everything around it into life, fear and love alike, whatever beliefs our spirit carries. And all of that can shift to pure love and freedom, though that does take years of walking, I admit. Still, creating our own reality is magic, pure and simple! It holds out the promise of totally unhooking fear and suffering from our lives, freedom forever. For once an old fear is healed, it will never have to be faced again, even in future lives, so my druid guides tell me.

But the most miraculous power of intuitive healing is this. All that remains in the collective unconscious, the many fears humanity has not yet faced and healed from everyone’s long-ago fall through those seven heavens to earth, is brought up into awareness for healing by the spirit world via global events. In my clients’ and my own life, global catastrophes have caused ancient and very personal memories to surface, over and over again. So this means, if everyone on the planet were to go through an inner healing process, these outer global circumstances would change for the better, too. My druid guides tell me that, if everyone were healed within, all fear-based outer circumstances would shift into loving ones. This means that: mental illness, disease, poverty and excess both, crime, displacement from homelands, even war, would disappear. The times of peace and love sages have spoken of throughout the ages would become a living reality. Imagine this for a moment, will you? Let the shining hope of this miracle of miracles flutter into the depths of your heart and take root, please. Then let us all take hands and move forward to face and heal whatever we must, until peace on earth is at long last realized. I cannot wait!

Working with Shadows

With all the news about self-harm lately, I decided to write about working with shadow energies this time. As a psychotherapist and light healer for forty years, I’ve seen a whole lot of them. And there are a few basic ways of dealing with fear that I wish everyone knew. The first one is that fear has no power of its own. It wants to steal our power by getting us to believe in it, focus on it, and do fear-based things. All of these; thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and actions have creative power, which create our own personal futures and add to fear’s power. So, the first thing to remember is, fear isn’t permanent. It can be intense at times, putting a whole lot of pressure on, but as soon as you focus on something you love, instead, the fear dissipates. And as soon as you heal it inside, it will be gone from your life. This is suggestion number one. Don’t give fear power in any way. Don’t spend lots of time focusing on things you are afraid of. Don’t listen to it. It’s not truth, and it only wants its own way. So, how do you tell the difference between a real warning from the spirit world about some danger in the world and a fear trying to get you to succumb to it? By the pressure. Fear wants to take control and can be really pushy. Real inner warnings from my guides and angels have always been gentle, a simple sentence and inner direction that is spoken quietly and only once. When fears come into my life, I simply write them down to heal in my next meditation and go back to whatever I was doing. (Obviously, this isn’t enough in a life-threatening situation, when taking immediate action to protect yourself is necessary. But those don’t happen very often.)

The second thing to know is that anyone can transmute fear in seconds and become empowered and stronger as an individual. The way I do this is to call in the specific fear energy associated with some negative event from my day, still my mind, and focus on that one shadow. Let’s say someone insulted me or stood me up or pushed me around in some way. As I think about that negativity, I can feel the resonance somewhere in my body, a tension or weakness. I send my mental focus to that place of tension and wait. In moments, memories of that particular fear playing out in various lifetimes arise in my mind, many memories from the time of my descent from heaven to earth, too. (If you don’t read energy in detail, not to worry, just getting a sense of it will help.) There are usually several lifetimes attached to a single fear impulse that has come into my life, a series of past lives. I focus on the shadow energy until I can feel the belief I have inside related to this fear. For instance, I may see a memory of a life where my mother yelled at me a lot, and I took on the belief that mothers aren’t very nice or don’t love me very much. So, once I understand the belief, I imagine it moving into the diamond light in the center of the four lobes of my heart. This diamond spark is the highest vibration in the body, a drop of Creator fire. And the shadow energy looks like smoke, which moves along with my thoughts. Just thinking of it coming into my heart pulls it there. (My druid guides say the mind is strong enough to move quarks and this is what I am seeing with my inner eye.) Anyway, once the shadow is sitting in the diamond light, it simply melts away or transmutes back into light, like a little cloud disappearing in the sky.

I want to access the belief in particular because my guides tell me it is beliefs that create our own little worlds. Our so called ‘realities’ are a precise outpicturing of our inner beliefs and can be changed by inner healing work. Inner creates outer, my guides have told me many times along the way. So, when I am imaging a fear moving into my diamond light, I also release my contract to believe in it, forever and a day. And after every healing on myself or with a client, I smile as watch the spirit world remove the effects of that fear from my own or my client’s life. Once, at the very beginning of energy school, I did a healing with a very, very skeptical client, and afterwards that day, her mother happened to call her. I found out later this hadn’t happened in 50 years! That client was instantly convinced! But most outer changes are subtle, gradual shifts into a better kind of life. And the next time I am faced with some fear energy I’ve recently healed, that shadow has no effect on me anymore. I just have no reaction to it at all, since the inner connection has been dissolved.

Since I began my own spiritual path 22 years ago, thousands of fears have shown up in my life. And every one came in as an unpleasantness in my life, some quite gentle, some dramatically intense, but every one simply a message from God/Goddess that I had some attachment to or belief in that particular fear. I now believe that nothing is really meant to harm us. All our troubles are simply a message to go inside and heal something. But there are teachings along the way that are important to learn, too. Dealing with pain in a positive way is deeply empowering as well. I became a spiritual warrior over all those years, and my life has become far more peaceful, gentle, humble, and meaningful over the years. I don’t get rattled very easily anymore. And learning things the hard way helps us never, ever forget the truths being built into our hearts. Enduring pain builds compassion for others who are in the same plight, too. Just reading about others who are suffering doesn’t engage the heart very much but living in that identical difficulty certainly does! So, everyone’s challenges in life bring forth the embodiment of wisdom. And this is because humanity’s main task is to renew wisdom for the cosmos. I have soul memories of long ago, before my own fall from the Creator Sun. Wisdom had grown stale and flat across the cosmos, and some star systems were invading other star systems as a result. Wisdom is a living thing, so it can only be renewed by living it into being again. And that means descending into realms of non-love and learning the laws of love all over again, through the hard, hard lessons of our lives. This is the task humanity took on. We are highly respected by the spirit world for this very difficult task. It is very honorable work, no matter how small one sometimes feels pursuing it.

Another important thing to know about fear is that is does not shift by force. Yelling at it will only make it rise up and get stronger. I watched this happen in energy school as a fellow student tried to force a fear energy out of her friend. Telling a fear to go away will not work, nor will yelling. The more you push it, the more fear pushes back. That’s because pushing and control are fear-based, and even fear is in service to love. Only love transmutes. So, thinking positively, taking loving action, holding the shadows in the light in the heart, then and only then will they disappear from our lives. Maybe halfway along on my own path, I finally realized the fears that were showing up in my life were just as afraid of me as I was of them. I learned to speak to them gently and explain that I wished only to heal them and meant no harm. My process became far easier after that, for even a crowd of shadows would simply lie down by my side and wait until I had time to heal them all.

I’ve been doing two healing meditations a day for 22 years, about 20 fears a day. So, complete healing of all the levels of one’s descent does take time. But it’s become a way of life for me now, and I barely notice when some shadow energy opens in my mind or outer life anymore. Also, there is a single core fear that each person carries, and this fear is wrapped into all the others and will reoccur all along the way until the end of the path, when it is finally healed. And then, one’s true love at long last shows up (I am still waiting!) and that highest destiny or inner divine child is finally birthed into a living reality.

It’s really easy to shift oneself out of a fear, too, far easier than most people realize. Calming music, for instance, restructures the emotional body in moments. Doing something fun, despite the pain, does the same. Calling a friend works, too. Trees, rivers, the sea, flowers, animals, and the earth are all amazing healers, and all are waiting eagerly to help us in any way they can. And if you are really constricted in your life and can’t do any of these things, imagine yourself shrinking down small enough to sit inside the diamond spark in the middle of the four lobes of your heart to be surrounded by the diamond light (You don’t have to be able to see it in your mind’s eye, just set the intention. It will be.) This eases just everything, and often solutions that are sensible and workable, very creative ideas, come forth. If you can do nothing else, think positive thoughts and just endure. Don’t give in or give up. Don’t try to force change or send negative thoughts, which will just create a rebound on yourself and make it all worse. Do whatever you need to for yourself to stay strong. Suicidal impulses, for instance, will always shift in about three days, just wait it out and things will look quite differently. Wisdom is being built into your heart during your difficulty (and you are likely paying off some less-than-loving action of a former lifetime, too), know this, and that you will be released by the universe when it is time.

But more than just oneself, all humanity’s old unhealed fears, our collective unconscious, is creating what happens across the global stage. Lots of people are suffering here! We all have five basic parts of our inner spirits; boy (right abdomen and leg), girl (left abdomen and leg), mother (left chest and arm), father (right chest and arm), and beloveds (heart). Earth is structured the same way, with four continents and the Middle East; the boy in S. America, girl in Africa, mother in the Far East, father in N. America, and the Beloveds in the Middle East (a hologram of the Creator Sun). So, let’s say I have past lifetime fears about starvation in my left abdomen or leg, my little girl spirit inside. Until those fears are healed, they will affect the lives of people living in Africa, the little girl continent, as well as all beings in the girl quadrant of the cosmos. Healing my own fears draws a small bit of shadow off the whole earth, especially the place on earth where that fear is anchored in, as well as the entire universe. So, the really hopeful part of all this is that, if every person healed old fear energies inside themselves, their lives would turn into the true love/world service happy ending that has been written into all our inner divine children. The earth would turn into Paradise, and the cosmos would become one big heavenly playground of creative expression. All the outer fear-based creations would simply disappear: hunger, poverty, disease, crime, war, and on and on. Wahoo! So, keep walking, everyone. Keep hoping and healing. It will get very, very magical before too long, I just know it.

Raising Your Vibration

Your mojo bag for this month is one that will help to raise your vibration! With the many shifts and changes that are coming, we need to raise our vibration to ride out the wave. If we fall below the surface, we will get caught in the undertow!

The first stone shown here is Polychrome Jasper! One of my all-time favorite stones as it is called the “happy energy“ stone and it is said to bring good fortune and a happy outlook on life. All jaspers are protective and nurturing, however, polychrome brings emotional balance, is a stress reliever and increases stamina and the ability to adjust to change. This beautiful stone aids quick thinking, promotes organizational abilities and seeing projects through to completion. It stimulates the imagination and helps to manifest ideas into action. Polychrome Jasper is useful for those starting new business pursuits and it also assists in a tuning to and communicating with animals! Also, it just feels really good to hold! *grins*

Mugglestone is the next stone to the right of the Polychrome in this photo. Mugglestone is a cross between Tiger’s Eye, Hematite and Red Jasper. Mugglestone incorporates the traits of all three of these stones. Together they provide strength, stamina, focused will, physical energy, grounding, balance and confidence. They strengthen first second and third chakras. It is important to keep your balance as you are raising your physical and energetic vibration.

Rutilated Quartz is in this mix because it is a vibrational healer. This type of clear quartz contains fine strands of real gold. It promotes spiritual growth, draws of negative energy, cleanses and energizes the aura, aids astral travel and channeling, facilitates contact with the highest spiritual guidance and protects against psychic attacks. The alleviates dark moods and acts as an antidepressant as it relieves fears, phobias, and anxieties, releasing destructive thoughts and counters self-hatred. Excellent for all chakras!

In the photo, below the Rutilated Quartz, you will see Hematite. An extra boost of hematite helps to manifest light, making the spiritual physical, and the balancing of opposites. Also helps to move through adversity and helps us to see the silver lining behind every dark cloud. Enhances first chakra.

And lastly, Tourminalated Quartz is clear or white quartz with rods of Black Tourmaline shooting through it! As we know, most black stones work well for grounding and protection. Quartz works as an amplifier! So, Tourminalated Quartz helps with purification, recovery and protection from negative influences. It clears out bad vibes and helps to remove blockages. Allows one to receive the full spectrum of light necessary for proper energetic and physical health.  It assists in purifying on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level, so further growth can be undertaken. It “washes“ the aura, clearing energy patterns that have created stagnation. It helps to identify emotional patterns that need to be purified and cleansed. It is excellent for healing and clearing rooms, as well. It can also be used to aid in purifying the physical body after substance-abuse and those are attempting to improve their diet. The stone also resonates with our chakras.

About the Author:

Tala is a healer of multi-cultural decent and influence. Her heritage is a mixture of Celtic, African, Native American and European decent. However, her spiritual journey began when she and her mother were living throughout Mexico. While exploring one of our world’s ‘Sacred Power Spots’, Chichen Itza in the Yucatan, Tala was struck by a bus and was pronounced dead. She was revived when three indigenous Mayan Shamans appeared from the jungle and proceeded to pass her body between them and chant. They brought her to their hidden jungle village on the mountain to recover and heal for three days. When Tala emerged from the jungle on the fourth day, she told her mother’s companion that she had been “given the light of god by the Mayan people”. She was five years old when she experienced this N.D.E. (near death experience). This opened the door to her receiving messages and visitations from spirits to this day.

At age 23, Tala was the recipient of Shaktipat, in person directly from Shri Anandi Ma. This is a transmission of energy/ god force through (in her case) physical touch which awakens the Kundalini. It often sets the person on their true spiritual path. Many who receive Shaktipat become healers and teachers.

And the Wheel of the Year turns again to Samhain. Here in the Mid-Atlantic, that means people are starting to think about pumpkin decorations while wondering if the 80-degree temperatures will turn to 60’s. Whenever this season comes back around our minds turns to the season past, and in a way that spring never really does. Spring is about the movement forward, birth and growth. Fall allows us to take stock of where we have been, and who we have been in the past. This ties in with scents so strongly because of the relationship between smell and memory. You simply cannot have one without the other.

Scent is 90% memory and only 10% recall, because in the process of understanding each smell we encounter we have to unpack the box of our experience, day by day, because each time we encounter a scent, we are encountering the last time we unpacked the memory of that scent, not the first time. We are looking at a copy, of a copy so to speak. The recent days are right there on top of the box fresh and clean because they were only placed there yesterday. Items that were put in the box five, ten or twenty years ago may take longer to find in the box, or they may be covered in dust, so it could take a minute to figure out what you’re looking at so to speak.

But we go through all of these processes because it simply could not work the other way around. Could you imagine being shocked and amazed at the smell of your own house every time you encountered it? There are hundreds of fragrances a day that we take for granted that our noses have (thankfully) written off for us as non-threatening.

With Samhain, it’s the season of taking stock, because we no longer need to take stock of our pantries and larders to make sure our families will make it through the winter, doesn’t mean we can’t take stock of our lives, our groups of friends and families. One of the easiest ways to do that is to relax our brains, our emotional centers and remind them that it is safe enough to take stock of where we are and let our sense of smell and nostalgia take over from there.

How do we do that? Call on the powers of fall. Here are some essential oils, and the magical applications you can do with them. (See ‘Blackthorn’s Botanical Magic‘ for a full list of warnings for each essential oil.)

Anise- (Pimpinella anisum) Anise is a protective plant, as well as a purifying and divining one. If you have someone in your life if you aren’t sure of their true purpose, place a drop of anise in an essential oil diffuser and use the mist created to scry or meditate on the truth of their mission. Anise will tell you the truth and help you protect your family and purify your home at the same time if needed.

Black Pepper– Improves mental alertness, physical energy and is great for protection spells. Can be used to drive away evil and as such is great for hex-breaking spells and uncrossing work of all kinds. This is perfect for Samhain as it’s this time of the year when the Veil between the worlds is thinnest that energetic nasties can be lurking outside your home. Diffuse this potent protector (again, just one drop! Don’t overdo it and cause yourself or someone else respiratory distress) to do a quick uncrossing to make sure there is nothing lurking from your latest ‘humble-brag’ at work.

Cinnamon- Boosts creativity of all kinds (artistic, linguistic and more), provides good luck, increases libido. The warming action burns away threads of negativity so is associated with protection. Is very uplifting and is associated with increased intuitive gifts. The next time you want to head into your workspace to get to the newest project consider diffusing some cinnamon essential oil 30 minutes before you are planning to get to work, so you don’t have to overcome the ‘get to know you’ part of your work day and can jump into the creative process.

Clove- The warmth of clove burns away that which doesn’t belong so its magic is dispelling that which doesn’t belong, especially people who don’t belong in your life anymore.

Ginger- This is energizing, healing and associated with love, passion, and power. What a great time to make sure that the people in your circle have your best intentions at heart. Take stock of the people who have been there for you for the past year, through phone calls, late-night PMs when you needed someone to talk to, who never had the time when you needed someone. Everyone has low times in their life, only you’ll know the difference between ‘dealing with something’ and just someone whose friendship has run its course.

Oakmoss- Not everyone is going to know this one, but I wanted to throw in a wild card. This lichen smells like leather backed with violets and is used for magic dealing with divination, grounding, hex breaking, and big-time manifestation. It also makes a great fixative for magic, so if you want to make sure that your magic is in it for the long haul, use this. (If you work with poppets, and live in a place like Florida, I’ve seen Oakmoss falling off trees, you can stuff poppets with it. Make sure to google a photo of it just because it’s on a live oak, doesn’t make it oakmoss.) I have gotten a decent price online for Oakmoss Absolute, feel free to reach out to my author page if you can’t find it.

By working with the scents of the season we can remember the times of Samhains and Halloweens past and embrace the best parts of ourselves. We can not only be the best of ourselves that we deserve, but that our friends and families deserve. By weeding and tending the garden of our hearts we keep those precious reserves for those people who truly deserve the fruits of our labor and our time, attention and devotion.

Midwinter and Christmas Spirit Magic

(Image from http://visitstonehenge.com/)

As nearly everyone knows, light seeds of what will manifest during the coming year, are sent by the spirit world down Arthur’s sword of light to the base of everyone’s spine on Midwinter dawn. I can usually feel a sizzling at the base of my spine that day, when I first step out of my little cottage into the daylight. But there’s much more that follows after, which no one at all seems to recognize. As a light healer, reading energies, it’s easy for me to see these. And so, this month, I want to write about what I’ve observed over many years. Those Arthurian light seeds of the year ahead settle down into the energetic soil of everyone’s womb (both men and women have inner female and male structures inside in light), where they remain for three days, while the Goddess decides the exact form and timing the new impulses of light will take over the year to come. The dark cosmic sea, keeper of all things unborn, floods every person’s abdomen as well. One could call it the unconscious, for it is.

Always, there’s one central thrust of growth for each person over the year to come, growth that will involve facing specific fears or outer challenges meant to build a brand new part of the self within. This new gift or talent is always divine, a small piece of each person’s self-of-light or highest destiny that will eventually emerge during everyone’s final lifetime on earth. This divine self was seeded into us at the very moment of our creation into light, long, long, ago, on the Creator Sun, the highest light structure in the seventh heaven, so say my druid guides. You could think of this new self-of-light that grows into fulness each year as each person’s own divine child of that cycle, too. That’s how my guides speak of it, anyway. Our own divine qualities always reflect the Creators, too, the White Tara and Oghama, Goddess and God.

So, after three days in the cosmic sea, the first structures of the year’s divine child emerge from everyone’s abdominal unconscious and move into each person’s high heart or thymus. The thymus is the inner child heart, where our divine children anchor in most strongly. This happens on Christmas dawn. This child within looks like an infant-of-light, and I find this time most magical, for I can always feel the soft loving-kindness essence of the divine children filling my spirit on that morning. Even amid the bustle of cooking for visiting relatives, I try to find a few moments of quiet to sense what this impulse of growth for the year ahead may bring for me. And this divine infant is one of twelve parts of our inner spirits that everyone has, all twelve with specific vibrations, regencies of the spirit, and directives in life. You could call these twelve parts of everyone’s spirit their personality, too. These twelve parts of our inner spirits exactly match the twelve gods and goddesses of the Creator Sun as well.

And always this emergence of the divine child inside everyone releases a bright beam of hope, a ray of clear diamond light. It will see that, during this first druid moon of the year, the Birch moon, some memory or long-cherished desire will be brought to each person’s attention. This is the first hint of what will manifest for each of us at the end of the coming year, something we’ve long wished for. And this promise of fulfillment stirs up desire from our depths to face and heal whatever fears may be in its way, so this dream will definitely come to be at the end of the year.

Over the year ahead then, this impulse get fleshed out as we push against the thorns and briars in our paths. On Imbolc, the little girl part of each person’s spirit emerges from this abdominal sea. On the Vernal Equinox, the toddler boy emerges. Then the feminine virgin on Bealtaine, the masculine virgin at Midsummer. The inner god and goddess are active during the Oak (May/June) and Apple (July/August) moons, not the solstice/equinox/cross-quarter-day festivals. The inner mother part of our spirits arises at Lughnasa, the inner father at the Autumnal Equinox, the feminine grandmother at Samhein, and finally, the inner grandfather at Midwinter. This is when our new divine part of self is finally complete, fully born into all twelve parts of our inner selves-of-light. It’s the realization of our sweet dream of the year before.

May your own divine child for the year to come be utterly miraculous, bringing an end to want, perhaps, a special destiny, a love like no other. I always hope for the beginning of real peace, unity between peoples, an end to war and privation in the places of most intense global suffering. But these are dreams that will take us all to achieve. For now, it’s enough to feel that sword of light and let it lead you all year long. Let’s walk this road together into the awakening of everyone’s divinity, all of us a shining star in our own personal areas of endeavor. May this season of magic be the very best you’ve ever had!
