Malachite

Malachite is a very versatile gem that is green with some dark green or black concentric bands. It is similar to rosasite, serpentine, chrysocolla and pseudomalachite. The main places you can find malachite would be Russia, Australia and Africa. It is mainly copper ( around 60%), so it is a useful ore as well. It is also known as the “Mirror of the soul” and a “stone of transformation”. Malachite is connected to the heart and throat chakras, is associated with the planet Venus, and it’s zodiacs are Libra, Scorpio and Capricorn. It is also used with the element Earth.

This green stone is soft and absorbent, so it should be kept away from harder stones and corrosive materials like salts and oils. It should be cleansed every few weeks as it absorbs a lot of negative energy and is hard working. You can cleanse it with warm, soapy water and a clean, soft cloth. Place it in a garden, under a tree or under the moon for a few hours or overnight to let it recharge and soak up nature. You can also put it in some geode clusters to amp up its energy.

Now, you are probably wondering what malachite is used for, and what it’s strengths are- so let me tell you. It has long been used as protection from the “evil eye”, a protector of children, helps in times of transformation and opens your heart to unconditional love. Malachite is associated with growth and abundance, but can also relieve pain and exhaustion. It gives you strength to embrace change and take new leaps. It will give you courage in these times, wisdom in your decisions and the ability to say no when you need to. This stunning gem will show you what is blocking your spiritual growth and then will locate and correct your emotional imbalances.

Not only that, but malachite will absorb environmental pollutants and can aid your liver in releasing toxins. It can help combat dyslexia, cramping, menopause and help boost your immune and nervous systems. If you are feeling pain anywhere on your body, take some malachite and hold it over where you are hurt as it will pull some of your pain out (be sure to cleanse it after doing this). This balancing stone will attune you to spiritual guidance and help you develop empathy towards others and new ideas. If you have past traumas, this will be very beneficial in releasing those negative experiences and even mood swings, with balance, peace and renewal.

Once you know what you need this for- you can determine where to put it and how to use it. Some examples would be: If you want it for protection for your house- place it at your front door to ward off negative energy and negative people. If you are feeling like you are not very productive and need a good boost- put it on your desk to give you creativity and help pick up the pace. If you would like to wear your malachite (like I do), it is best to be worn as a bracelet to put the energy right into your pulse so it will flow throughout your body.

If you don’t have any malachite in your life, I suggest you track some down as it really can help in so many aspects of your life- and it’s gorgeous to boost!
