This book struck my interest when it was offered for review. This was due to having spent over 30 years of my life as a Catholic. The Fourteen Holy Helpers are Christian Saints. In this book, Christiane Stamm presents how to initiate yourself to use the power of the saints as well as how to preform an invocation utilizing prayers to bring about healing and protection.
The book invites you to become initiated by copying each of fifteen prayers in your hand in your own notebook. A prayer to each saint as well as a prayer to all fourteen saints are listed in the book. The recommendation is to write each prayer out during a full moon.
Once you have initiated yourself, you are prepared to utilize invocations for healing of yourself and others. In the book there other invocations for use in protecting your home as well as creating healing amulets. The book also lists brief biographies of each of the fourteen holy helpers.
This is a small but mighty book with a lot of useful information packed into its pages. For me, it was a reminder of how closely many of the world’s religions are related. I also was reminded of how eclectic solitary practitioners are. Although I left my Catholic roots about 20 years ago, I could see myself incorporating Christian/Catholic saints into my own personalized religious and spiritual beliefs. This is what I think Ms. Stamm has done with this book. No matter your spiritual background or beliefs, she invites you to learn to work with these fourteen saints to invoke healing and protection. It is a fast read and easy to learn process. I invite you to add this book to your collection or to consider reading it for new ideas to incorporate into your spiritual practice.
