Book Review: The Bed by Laura Perry
Book Review The Bed By Laura Perry Having ready and enjoyed Laura Perry’s non-fiction work, I was excited by the thought of a novel by the same accomplished writer. However, I had no idea what to expect. What took me by surprise were delightfully real characters, a magical story full of occult surrealism and a page turner that I literally couldn’t put down. I’ll try to avoid spoilers as I review this great piece of ‘witch lit’, as I really want you all to go and read it for yourselves! Relatable The first thing that struck me was how relatable Laura’s characters are. The dysfunctional family. The best friend…

Review of Void of Course Moon Calendar App on the Galaxy S9+
Void of Course Moon Calendar Installed May 29,2018 I have both a Kindle Fire and a Samsung Galaxy S9+. This review is for the one that is on the Galaxy S9+. I honestly looked for one in the Amazon Kindle Appstore. They don’t have one. They have all kinds of tarot, astrology and meditation apps, but nothing on the moon void of course. I will keep everyone up to date on when they get one. (I don’t know anything about doing an app, so I won’t be the one creating it. LOL) Here is the Link to It in the Google Play App Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.astrolreport.moonvoc&hl=en_US The author, Geoff Cooper, has…

Lughnasa Lughnasa is my very favorite spirit time of year. The solstice/equinox and cross-quarter days mark the cosmic openings of the eight basic aspects of spirit in all things, shifts that are quite powerful. If you are into feeling energy or spirit, these can easily be felt. The masculine openings occur at sunrise, the feminine at sunset on the eve of each holy day. Early in each year, at Imbolc, this spirit opening feels like a baby, a little Girl. Then comes the Boy of the Vernal Equinox, the Virgin Girl and Boy of Bealtaine and Midsummer, the mother and father of Lughnasa and the Autumnal Equinox, the Grandmother at…

WitchCrafting: Crafts for Witches
Claws with Crystals Merry meet. “Bones are a type of fetish,” Sarah Anne Lawless posted on her website. “A fetish is ‘an object regarded with awe as being the embodiment or habitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency (source).’ The word fetish originates from the French fétiche which stems from the Portuguese word feitiço meaning ‘charm’ or ‘sorcery.’ Feathers, bones, crystals, and stones are all types of fetishes. Skulls and bones have an appeal to witches who perform spirit work and are a necessary and simple way to connect with spirits of the dead and of animals. “Working with bones is not just for necromancers and black…

Seeing the Signs
The Appearance of the Jack of Clubs I have been living in this current apartment for over a year now. I am a neat freak – not because I really want to be – but I have three cats and I am allergic to their fur so I am always dusting and sweeping up so that I am not sneezing all the time. And cleaning the house is a way to get up and moving when I am writing – I don’t want to sit all day – so doing a few chores around the house takes care of that. Plus, I just like to have a neat and tidy…

Uranus Comes to Taurus
Uranus Comes to Taurus: Radical Change Meets Immovable Object MAY 2018 – April 2026 Buckle up! Uranus, the Changemaker, the Awakener, the Great Liberator, arrived in Taurus right after the New Moon on May 15th. It will be in the Bull’s sign (with short forays into Aries and Gemini) for 7 years, until it enters Gemini in April 2026. It brings with it the legacy of its transit through Aries, which began in 2011. Think back to the Occupy movement, the Arab Spring, the removal of many barriers to same sex marriage, the sudden breakdown of the structures of silence around sexual abuse and harassment in the halls of corporate…

Book Review: Essential Oils in Spiritual Practice by Candice Covington
Book Review Essential Oils in Spiritual Practice: Working with the Chakras, Divine Archetypes, and the Five Great Elements by Candice Covington This book has a decidedly Eastern, rather than Western Hermetic approach to the use of Essential Oils, herbs and the elemental correspondences. In fact, the page opposite the title page is a full color and beautifully rendered graphic of the shapes and colors of the Five Tattwas, the Eastern cousins of the traditional alchemical elements that are used in most pagan magical practice. The Forward sets the tone for Candice’s work and is written by Sheila Patel, M.D. and medical Director of the (Deepak) Chopra Center. Despite what appears…
