{"id":10129,"date":"2014-09-01T01:10:02","date_gmt":"2014-09-01T06:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paganpages.org\/content\/?p=10488"},"modified":"2014-08-22T14:45:04","modified_gmt":"2014-08-22T19:45:04","slug":"a-moment-for-meditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/2014\/09\/01\/a-moment-for-meditation\/","title":{"rendered":"A Moment for Meditation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>Merry Meet and welcome to my first column on meditation.\u00a0 I am honored to be part of the <\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/PaganPages.org\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\"><i>PaganPages.org<\/i><\/span><\/a><i> writing family.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>I am a Certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher; I have been practicing for 20 years and teaching for 16.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>In this column, I will be discussing the different aspects of meditation, which will include, but not be limited to, mantra (vibratory sound), mudra (yoga positions for the hands), posture, visual focus, breathing techniques both simple and not-so-simple, and so on. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>I don\u2019t think it would be an exaggeration to say that life is fairly stressful for most of\u00a0 us.\u00a0 Meditation and proper breathing technique can help to calm your nerves and slow down your heart rate, which will allow the body to calm itself naturally.\u00a0 This, in turn, helps you to rationally deal with the situation at hand.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>To meditate is to breathe.\u00a0 Your breath is Prana; Prana is life, plain and simple.\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>When you make the effort to tune into a daily meditation sadhana (spiritual practice), you become calmer, more centered, grounded and balanced.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>It is my hope that you will take this journey with me, learning the basics of meditation and breathing your way to a happier, healthier you. \u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 14px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;\"><i>Blessings and Namaste<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Merry Meet and welcome to my first column on meditation.\u00a0 I am honored to be part of the PaganPages.org writing family.
