{"id":11074,"date":"2015-05-01T01:10:24","date_gmt":"2015-05-01T06:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paganpages.org\/content\/?p=11487"},"modified":"2015-05-01T13:08:48","modified_gmt":"2015-05-01T18:08:48","slug":"a-moment-for-meditation-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/2015\/05\/01\/a-moment-for-meditation-9\/","title":{"rendered":"A Moment for Meditation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Chakras<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe past few months, we have been talking about meditation, it\u2019s benefits, the why\u2019s, where-for\u2019s and how-to\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>In Kundalini Yoga, the yoga that I teach, we move toward systematically raising heat and energy through our bodies and up our spines through use of the chakras. The word \u201cchakra\u201d means \u201cwheel\u201d in Sanskrit and are the energy centers within your body. These chakras can be blocked by long-held stresses, tensions and other factors. Meditation is key in helping to release these blocks.<br \/>\nWhen working with the chakras, it is important to stay grounded and centered. To start always do a grounding exercise, such as the following:<\/p>\n<p>**\u201cStand up, grip toes to the ground, long deep breathing, visualize your roots going deep into Mother Earth, keeping you grounded and centered.
