They are used singley or in blends. The aroma is inhaled, and the oils mayb be applied to the skin, as well. The herbs\/flowers or combinations address specific disorders or needs. It appears the body is able to utilize the healing properties of the oils through the olfactory system of the body and so initiate the healing process. These illnesses maybe physical or emotional.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seasonal Aromatherapy<\/strong><br \/>\nSeason&#8217;s are changing and it&#8217;s getting colder out. I thought I would share with you some aromatherapy tips on some seasonal disorders that you may find useful. These are mainly physical.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Nasal Inhaler<\/strong><\/em><\/span><br \/>\nUse to inhale the vapors when you have a cold or sinus congestion.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need<\/p>\n<p>rock salt<br \/>\n2 drops essential oil eucalyptus<br \/>\n2 drops essential oil rosemary<br \/>\n1 drop essential oil peppermint<\/p>\n<p>Put a few pieces of rock salt into a glass vial, add the drops.<br \/>\nThe salt will absorb the oils.<\/p>\n<p>Or Simply add the drops to a handkerchief to inhale.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Sinus Infection<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A compress with Peppermint oil relieves the symptoms of a sinus<br \/>\ninfection.<\/p>\n<p>Mix 5 drops of Peppermint oil in two cups of warm water.<\/p>\n<p>Lay a small cloth dampened with the mixture across your nose<br \/>\nand your cheekbones.<\/p>\n<p>Breathe deeply, keeping your eyes closed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Winter Skin Relief<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a blend for dry, rough and scaly skin.<\/p>\n<p>Lavender 4 drops<br \/>\nPatchouli 2 drops<br \/>\nSandalwood 4 drops<\/p>\n<p>Use in 1\/2 oz. of carrier oil. (Find out about <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carrier_oil\" target=\"_blank\">Carrier Oils<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Allergy FootBath<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Essential oils are easily absorbed through the feet<br \/>\ntherefore an aromatic footbath can be effective for<br \/>\nallergy related symptoms.<br \/>\nTry this blend for allergy relief symptoms<\/p>\n<p>1 drop Geranium<br \/>\n1 drop Rose<br \/>\n3 drops Lavender<\/p>\n<p>Combine with 2 Tablespoons Sea Salts.<br \/>\nAdd to a basin of tepid water.<br \/>\nSoak feet for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Use as a preventive during seasonal changes<br \/>\nwhen you expect allergy symptoms<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Headaches<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When using essential oils for a headache,<br \/>\ntry inhalation from a tissue. This method<br \/>\noften works faster and better than massage.<br \/>\nOils to try are Lavender, Chamomile, Peppermint,<br \/>\nBasil and Rosemary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em>Ravensara Oil<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Helpful for chronic fatigue.<br \/>\nAn essential oil which has a regulating effect<br \/>\nwhile energizing the immune system<br \/>\nand balancing the circulating immunoglobulins.<br \/>\nA very good expectorant, helpful for bronchitis.<br \/>\nGentle yet effective. Can be used on young and old alike.<br \/>\nCan be used neat or undiluted on the skin.<br \/>\nApply neat to cold sores.<br \/>\nA very powerful anti viral oil<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Muscle Cramp Rub<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adding Tangerine to a massage oil will help to relax cramped muscles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Fever<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Eucalyptus can effectively bring down a fever.<\/p>\n<p>Add 6 drops to a bowl of tepid water. Mix.<\/p>\n<p>Dampen several clothes in the water, wring out and apply to wrists, feet and forehead.<\/p>\n<p>Wipe down the rest of the body with one of the cloths.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Help Clear Sinuses and Ease Breathing<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To help clear sinuses and ease breathing,<br \/>\nplace 1-2 drops of Sweet Marjoram oil on<br \/>\na handkerchief or tissue and inhale deeply.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em>Muscle, Nerve, &amp; Joint Pain<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Eucalyptus oil is an effective analgesic and is<br \/>\noften used to relieve muscle, nerve and joint pain.<br \/>\nApply a massage oil to the affected area before a<br \/>\nwarm bath,then massage the area again after your bath.<br \/>\nYou can use a blend of Lavender and Eucalyptus for even<br \/>\nbetter results.<br \/>\nWhen massaging small areas like a shoulder you can<br \/>\ndouble the amount of essential oils used.<br \/>\nex. 20-30 drops per 1 oz. carrier oil. It is also helpful for chronic fatigue.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Upset Tummy<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Upset Tummy Aid<\/p>\n<p>7 drops Mandarin<br \/>\n4 drops Ginger<br \/>\n4 drops Peppermint<\/p>\n<p>Add to 1 oz. carrier oil.
