{"id":1283,"date":"2009-02-01T01:10:48","date_gmt":"2009-02-01T06:10:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paganpages.org\/content\/?p=1262"},"modified":"2009-01-28T12:14:14","modified_gmt":"2009-01-28T17:14:14","slug":"crystal-clear-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/2009\/02\/01\/crystal-clear-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Crystal Clear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Learning From Stones<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just as humans were created with thinking minds, feelings, likes and dislikes, so did Mother Earth create stones.\u00a0 Stones from the high grade ruby in your ring to the common &#8216;rock&#8217; under your foot as you go for a walk, is a child of the earth.\u00a0 Each has survived on this earth for thousands of years or more!\u00a0 Each\u00a0 has\u00a0 a lesson to teach.\u00a0 The trick is learning to hear and perceive these lessons from our earth elders.\u00a0 Once this is achieved, the knowledge to be gained is boundless!<\/p>\n<p>For example, garnet can teach how to keep the body&#8217;s aura strong which serves to protect from illness as all illness begins in the aura.\u00a0 Green aventurine teaches our hearts the way of joy so that once we&#8217;ve learned how it works,\u00a0 we&#8217;re always able to be happy any time we like.\u00a0 Rose quartz can teach us of all the many and complex layers of love so that we may always be filled with it.\u00a0 Those are just a few examples.\u00a0 Each stone listed above can teach us these things and so much more!<\/p>\n<p>There are numerous books written on the subject of the metaphysical properties of stones.\u00a0 Many of those speak of stones as objects rather than living beings which were born and have grown in the earth.\u00a0 Working with a stone as an object only limits the success that shall be reached with that stone.\u00a0 Working with it\u00a0 as another living being, and one who is much older and wiser than any human, opens the learning experience immensely.\u00a0 It frees the mind of the student to hear more than he or she may expect.<\/p>\n<p>There are several ways to communicate with a stone.\u00a0 Meditation is a wonderful way to begin as it is done from a calm quiet place where all outside distractions are cleared away.\u00a0 Meditating with a stone isn&#8217;t only for beginning to know a stone,\u00a0 however.\u00a0 it is quite useful to take a stone friend into meditation with you at all\u00a0 times for messages and lessons.\u00a0 To communicate with a\u00a0 stone during meditation, try the following exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Lie down and become comfortable.\u00a0 Place the stone on your forehead.\u00a0 If it is too big, lay it\u00a0 just above you on the floor or a pillow, allowing some part of it to rest against the crown of your head.\u00a0 This closeness with the head is so you may better receive the messages from the stone into your mind.\u00a0 Relax\u00a0 and deep breathe, taking yourself deep into a meditative state.\u00a0 Then think of the stone you&#8217;ve taken into this peaceful journey with you.\u00a0 Feel it against your head.\u00a0 Just reflect quietly for a time on its energy before even trying to speak with it.\u00a0 Can you feel it\u00a0 doing anything?<\/p>\n<p>Many times a person understands a stone&#8217;s actions or lessons in the way the stone is making him or her feel.\u00a0 If, for example, if a person is meditating with or wearing a green\u00a0 aventurine, and that person begins to feel quite happy, they&#8217;ve just learned a lesson.\u00a0 Green aventurine is a very joyful stone, and it is teaching that person to feel joy.<\/p>\n<p>If during meditation the stone is doing something, merely reflect on that.\u00a0 Make a note of the activity as a lesson the stone is teaching.\u00a0 There is no need to rush through the process, for the language of stones is very different from our words.\u00a0 It is a mental language of feelings and concepts.\u00a0 As the human mind isn&#8217;t used to speaking in this way, it requires some time to process and understand what the stone has taught.\u00a0\u00a0 Because of this, the information may not be fully understood until days later.
