It isn\u2019t Solstice any more<\/p>\n

So clear the fake snow off the floor<\/p>\n

Sweep the hearth and lock the door.<\/p>\n

No more carols, no more knocks;<\/p>\n

No more callers: check the locks!<\/p>\n

Pull down festive Solstice Socks.<\/p>\n

But leave the ivy, leave the oak<\/p>\n

Leave the promises we spoke<\/p>\n

To truly honour Sol\u2019s return<\/p>\n

To let the midnight fires burn<\/p>\n

To cherish love and cherish hope<\/p>\n

Even though right now I just can\u2019t cope<\/p>\n

With sales and queues and counting cash<\/p>\n

January\u2019s cold, mad dash\u2026<\/p>\n

Banish the blues, dare to smile,<\/p>\n

After all, \u2018tis Imbolc,<\/p>\n

In but a little while.<\/p>\n
