Lughnasadh<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The scythe is laid to rest<\/span><\/p>\n

Now hands beat on chest<\/span><\/p>\n

As all gather to prove<\/span><\/p>\n

They are the best<\/span><\/p>\n

The pride, the joy, the champion<\/span><\/p>\n

The hero, the one, the winner<\/span><\/p>\n

In each and every new contest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each struggle is met with smiles<\/span><\/p>\n

Tug of war, rock tossing, wrestling<\/span><\/p>\n

Fleet footed races through ditches and bogs<\/span><\/p>\n

Peaty feet slipping and caked in<\/span><\/p>\n

History.<\/span><\/p>\n

We fly kites, and hunt treasure<\/span><\/p>\n

20 questions, buzzing with pleasure<\/span><\/p>\n

Simple joys, still competing<\/span><\/p>\n

But no conflict. Competition<\/span><\/p>\n

Without war.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just, as we think, Lugh\u2019s mother Tailtiu<\/span><\/p>\n

Would have wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n

After all, that\u2019s who he made<\/span><\/p>\n

Lughnasadh for.<\/span><\/p>\n
