Her formal name is\nAkhilandeswari Ma, and is known informally as Khodiyar Ma, a form of\nthe Great Mother Goddess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nIn\nSanskrit, Akhilanda means \u201cnever not\nbroken\u201d and Ishwari is Goddess or female\npower.  She is one of India\u2019s oldest\ndepictions of the Goddess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nShe\nis said to be originally a Vedic Goddess, the Vedas being the oldest\nlayer of Sanskrit scripture.  She is also known as the Goddess of the\n\u201cagamas\u201d, the\ntexts known as tantra. The\ncrocodile is our fears, our vulnerabilities.  \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nShe\nteaches us that our power is in our pain and that we have the\nstrength and ability to pull ourselves back together, again and\nagain, after breaking.  We re-create and rebuild ourselves over and\nover into whom we wish to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nAkhilandra\nis there to help us transition from one place to another after we are\nhurt, when we feel sadness, when we have suffered loss.  She assists\nus to grow, to transform, to heal and mend those broken bits and\npieces.
