\nMost books\nabout the Chakras generally stick to the seven (7) more broadly\nknown. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this guide includes\ntwo additional that make the study more cohesive and aligned with\nthose who are exploring this subject area with the intention of\nreaching beyond the standards. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe first\nstatement by the author is one of reminder that the system of the\nChakras is one that reaching deeply into ancient practices and by\nvirtue of that reach is inclusive of the work we do to maintain our\nancestor\u2019s wisdom as we move forward on our own paths of evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n….\u201cWhen\nyou are mindful and reverent of the past, you both honor your\nancestors and do a great service to your lineage\u201d….<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThis book\nis chock-full of experiential exercises that bring the gifts of the\nChakras into a palpable energy that provides opportunities to sense\nthe energies and guide and direct your own process. Additionally, it\nis a treat for your visual sense with illustrations of the chakras by\nRoberta Orpwood, a professional visionary artists and Master Reiki\nteacher. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nEach\nchapter has a beautiful cover page aligned to the color traditionally\nassociated with that specific chakra, correspondences, experiential\npractices and more. I particularly appreciated the sections that\nallowed for journaling and \/or deeper contemplative action with\nquestions of reflection relating to each of the chakras. Another\nbonus is the section that provides suggestions of gemstones that\nrelate to each of the chakras and how they can be used to enhance and\nawaken the energy. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nMoving\nbeyond the traditional correspondences you will find in many books,\nDr. Perrakis includes Mantras, Tarot card, Rune, Goddess and\nArchetypal energy of the chakras making this truly a comprehensive\nand \u201cultimate\u201d guide. Many of these correspondences can be found\nrandomly in multiple books but having everything available in a\nsingle chapter of a brilliantly organized tome is invaluable. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nBeing\nsomeone who operates highly from the Throat center, I was intrigued\nby the reflection questions set forth in this chapter…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n…. \u201c(1.) Are you keeping\nsecrets in your life, and if so, from whom? (2.) When you think\nabout secrets, how do you feel? Anxious, heavy and weighed-down,\nperhaps? (3.) If you carry such secrets, where in your life can you\nrelease them or set them down?\u201d…<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nI tried the\nembodiment experiential and had some opportunity to\nexplore some revelations relating to my truth and the conditioning I\nexperienced at various parts of my life that silenced the speaking of\nthat truth. I\u2019ve worked a lot with the chakras, but many of the\nconcepts and reflections I found presented in this book provided a\nfresh perspective and deepening of the cursory understanding that is\ngenerally put forth. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe final\nchapter, features \u201cGiving the Chakras a Voice\u201d. The premise here\nin listening and envisioning what the chakra would say. I found this\na fascinating exercise given that energy is vibration that adapts and\nmoves in accord with the direction required. Speaking, voice and\nbreath all incorporate the modality of moving vibration hence moving\nenergy. Giving voice to the chakras enables yet another vehicle of\nintegration and synthesis within our energy fields. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThis book\nis a valuable asset to both the beginner and the more seasoned\npractitioner of energetic protocol, healing and studies of the\nenergetic anatomy. There is plenty to stimulate the senses and pique\nyour interest in exploring the many correspondences that are\nassociated with the Chakras. This alone, is a treat in being able to\nconnect the dots and see the synchronicities and connections between\nso many of the disciplines used for spiritual and magickal workings.\nA must have for any book shelf!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
