\nThe\nauthor explains the when, where, how and proceeds to tell us of\nHoodoo’s principles in chapter 2. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nI\nlove the explanation of how \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n“Conjure\nwas birthed out of a need to overcome the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\noppression\nof slavery. It was a way for the slaves<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nto\nturn the tide against the slave masters and take back,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nat\nleast in some way, what had been taken from them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHe\nspeaks lovingly about the ancestors, those who came before and laid\nthe foundation for all that has followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThere\nare a few chapters that discuss roots, plants and animals and how\neach have their own spirit. He discusses the “spirit of a\nplace”, with a whole chapter on conjuring in graveyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
