Love and money \u2013 the two things everyone wants. Those are the topics of the first and second chapters of the book \u201c<\/span>1001 Spells: The Complete Book of Spells for Every Purpose<\/span>\u201d by Cassandra Eason. There are 50 spells in each of those chapters: spells to attract love and increase romantic commitment, to overcome debt and attract money during urgent financial situations, and much more.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Other chapters cover such categories as angel magic, protection spells, fertility magic, justice and peace spells, animal magic, magic for all seasons and celebrations, and spells for all stages of life.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The book is the result of Cassandra Eason\u2019s 40 years of research and spell casting. Some are her \u201cold tried-and-tested spells \u2026 cannot be changed without losing their essence.\u201d But the vast majority are either new or rewritten from earlier spells with new formats making them more effective.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Spells are numbered \u2013 Yes, there really are 1,001. \u2013 and organized two to a page. Each spell lists the primarily simple, common items you will need to carry it out; the best time to cast the spell; detailed instructions; and what action, if any, is needed afterwards. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \u201cEach spell follows sound magical practices, harms no one,\u201d she states. Readers are encouraged to use the spells as templates, changing words or making substitutions as guided. \u201cWe all possess the innate powers to work magick. If in doubt, white will substitute for any color, clear quartz for any crystal, and lavender for any fragrance,\u201d Eason writes. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      As I was reviewing the book, my cat was having a difficult time with guests coming on the bus. I know it has to do with fear and trust. Upon consulting the book, I found three in the Animal Magic chapter that might be helpful. \u201cA Hariel, Angel of Pets Blessing on Small Animals or Any Creatures That Are Timid and Anxious\u201d would have me partially fill a small container with food and use it as a rattle, moving around the space while chanting, then feeding the kibble to my cat. \u201cFor Soothing a Timid, Frightened, or Nervous Pet\u201d I would light four green candles in a certain matter, pass a grooming brush over them, repeating a spell, and then brushing my cat gently while continuing to repeat the spell. The third was to stop antisocial behavior (such as his hissing and swiping). It was meant to be done on a waning moon and then again when it was waxing. The spell calls for adding flower essences to a spray bottle of water and misting all rooms and thresholds the pet uses while repeating spell words, and then carrying the animal around to all the same places, and sending out the front door all the behaviors I wish to be rid of before spraying until the bottle was empty. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      All of them needed to be modified in some way or other, because my cat\u2019s food is wet, he would never allow me to brush him, and the even the thought of picking him up leaves me scratched and bleeding. However, using them as a guide, I chose to begin with the last one. I added the flower essences I had that were appropriate to a spray bottle using the number of drops I chose, and sprayed the skoolie in which my cat and I live, while repeating the words in the spell. Rather than using it all up as called for, I will continue to spray and chant every day or so until a the dark moon has come and gone. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      I ended up spraying my space three more times over the next two weeks, the last two times using my own words. Pyewachet has seemed more comfortable with people on the bus. However, there have been few guests, and when they were on the bus, I let them sit in my chair while I sat on a stool or the bench, and that change might have had something to do with his attitude. I will continue to use the spray until it\u2019s gone.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
