Dividing them into distinct categories that focus on a theme helps the reader to see the different faces of the goddess clearly. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Because this is a cross-cultural work of sorts, we also see how various cultures have picked up on these particular goddess traits all around the world. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Although women will likely find themselves more attracted to some categories more than others, there is something here for anyone who is wanting to connect to their feminine aspect across the gender spectrum. And the reader may also be surprised to see parts of their own story coming through the less resonant archetypes. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">The illustrations by Harriet Lee Merrion are beautifully done: reflecting at once the power and the softness of the goddess archetype in her strong lines and use of soft colours. The illustrations allow a visual movement through the book that creates a nice flow and breaks up the text. In that way, it is much more favourable to the modern visual audience than old encyclopedias used to be. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">I didn\u2019t find it to be a book I could read straight through from beginning to end.
