It came to me when I first laid out the all the cards for a Grand Tableau and I thought \u2013 gee, what if I used my pendulum to pick out the most important cards? But I didn\u2019t do that for a long time because \u2013 ya know \u2013 I was still learning. But I\u2019ve been stuck \u2013 really stuck \u2013 for what seems like ages. I think a big part of that is that the Lenormand is my \u201csecond language\u201d \u2013 so to speak \u2013 the Tarot is my first language \u2013 and I\u2019m an older woman \u2013 I should have learned this at a younger age \u2013 but I didn\u2019t get my first Lenormand deck until I <i>was <\/i>older. But hey \u2013 this is life. I currently own five Lenormand decks with plans to get more. I <i>do <\/i>want to become adept at the language of Lenormand. It just doesn\u2019t come naturally to me \u2013 unlike reading the Tarot. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> Still \u2013 I\u2019ve been doing this for a while. I\u2019ve been laying out all the cards \u2013 face down. Sometimes ten in a row, three rows and then five under that \u2013 or maybe eight cards in a row and then however it works out after that \u2013 it doesn\u2019t really matter. I\u2019ve laid them out in a circle \u2013 I\u2019ve laid them out in a diamond \u2013 I\u2019ve laid them out in a star shape. It really doesn\u2019t matter. There\u2019s thirty-five cards \u2013 work it out. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> The cards I used for this reading were <a href=\"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/2020\/05\/01\/learning-lenormand-interviews-diana-clark-creator-of-the-gaelic-lenormand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Gaelic Lenormand by Diana Clark<\/a>. You can find ones like this on any pagan website. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> When you go to pick cards using your pendulum, hold the pendulum directly over each card one at a time. How it <i>always <\/i>works for me is that the pendulum will swing in an up and down motion \u2013 it\u2019s always a <i>very strong <\/i>motion \u2013 indicating that this card is one of the cards that I am to turn over and consider for the reading. Then I move onto the next card. The pendulum never moves in a back and forth motion or in a circular motion or in any other way than up and down. If the pendulum does not like the card, it doesn\u2019t move <i>at all. <\/i>Now \u2013 perhaps your pendulum will work differently for you \u2013 I don\u2019t know. Nine of out of ten times, the pendulum picks five cards. Therefore, I do a \u201cLine of Five\u201d reading. The \u201cLine of Five\u201d reading is my go-to reading in most cases, so that works out. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> This reading here is telling me that I\u2019m in a period of good luck. I\u2019m getting the messages that I need to hear; even with that 7 Snake card in there, things are positive for me and I\u2019m in a period of happiness and forward-thinking. And snakes aren\u2019t always the \u201cbad\u201d card that so many Lenormand guidebooks might have you believe \u2013 consider that snakes shed their skins and renew their lives. I am personally in a period of change and renewal so the 7 Snake card next to the 13 Child card points to that process. Perhaps it\u2019s not as comfortable as I would like it to be but transformation isn\u2019t always pleasant! And the 2 Clover card in the middle of the line tells me that I am much luckier \u2013 indeed, blessed \u2013 than I know. I have to believe in myself and my luck and keep going on the path that I\u2019m on. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> So try this out! It\u2019s a great way to choose your cards, whether you\u2019re using Lenormand cards, Tarot cards or Oracle cards.
