Room on the Broom is a short cartoon film based on the children\u2019s book with the same title, written by Julia Donaldson. It was originally released by BBC One in 2012, then again in 2013. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Voiced by some of Britain\u2019s most famous stars, including Gillian Anderson, Timothy Spall, and David Walliams, the film is inspiring, heartwarming, and fun. They land, and look everywhere- but cannot find the hat. All the sudden out of nowhere comes a cute dog. (I am not sure if the author intended for the dog to be cute, but ALL dogs are cute, as far as I am concerned.) The dog found the witches hat, and gives it back to her. It\u2019s alone, and sad and asks, \u201cIs there room on the broom for a dog like me?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Now, all of us who have cats know what the cat said. \u201cNO!\u201d but the witch had a big heart and said \u201cYes!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">So, away the witch, her new dog, and a very annoyed cat flew.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Until her hairbow fell off\u2026after that, her wand fell also\u2026and by that time, she had acquired a bird and a frog, both of whom the cat did not want along\u2026but the witch said \u201cYES!\u201d there was room on the broom.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Well\u2026the broom got crowded, and broke, sending them all tumbling from the sky- and the worst thing you can think of happened- a dragon took off chasing after the witch- and the cat needed help from the dog, bird, and frog to save the day.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">In the end, the witch found a solution to the broken broom, and proved the cat was wrong- there WAS room on the broom all along!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The fact is, when somebody comes along and asks to be taken in- do your best to do so unless there are red flags. Without this, we are all up the creek without a paddle. And I do mean that. I cannot tell you how many times people who I share life with helped me, and without it, I would have been finished. This is part of being human. None of us can survive this life alone, and we need each other. Sometimes, we have to reach out and help first, before we are helped in return. Do it as often as you can. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Never assume you can handle everything all on your own. To say this film reminds us of strength in numbers is an understatement. Meditating on that, I don\u2019t mean to say we have to make sure we get exactly as much as we receive at all. What I mean is in general in life, we give and we accept. We have to do both. Generosity as well as gracious, thankful receiving need to be balanced.
