Nuances of The Great Work-Part One<\/span><\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen a human reaches up to his\/her Higher Mind and learns to access the vibrational gifts from that realm (of his\/her own higher consciousness), she or he will be filled with inspiration and courage. And this type of inspiration and courage could change the world through actions that are then taken by that individual.\u201d\u2026 anonymous \u2026<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n As we begin our exploration of the Great Work, I\u2019d like you to keep in mind that there are many roads that lead to this work. There is no <\/span><\/span><\/span>one-size-fits all<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span> and the most direct path is one of deeper reflection on how you go about sustaining your practice. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/a> This month we are taking the path of….<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n DEVOTION<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n What is Devotion?<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n A Definition of Devotion\u2026.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 1. Ardent, often selfless affection and dedication, as to a person or principle; 2. Religious ardor or zeal; piety; 3. Commitment to some purpose; 4. An act of religious observance or prayer, especially when private.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n If we look at the definitions above we have a sense of the complexity of this word. And, that complexity can take on many forms and nuances as we move along the Path. If we are not devoted to the work, we will not put forth the maximum amount of effort. If we only give half-heartedly, most of the effort is wasted and dissipates just as quickly as it was generated. Devotion to self, Deity, the work all serve as anchors that hold together the many spokes of the wheel around which we establish our place in magickal working.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Some Keywords that relate to Devotion are:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n sacrifice and commitment <\/p>\n As you can see, I have set these as polarities. Devotion requires polarized balance. The Great Work requires a devotion that can navigate all extremes and arrive at a space of understanding of self and your place within the greater work of SELF. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Take some time to reflect on what each of these mean to you. Which resonate more deeply and which do you feel should not even be on this list.
