I make custom dolls, but for some reason had never made a god or goddess, just creepy random dolls. But, I was up for the challenge. I used three different dolls to make up this one. I took the head from a snarky looking Barbie, the body of a Monster High doll that was missing her hands and then hands from a different Barbie.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23909\" src=\"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/doll-article-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/doll-article-1.png 301w, https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/doll-article-1-222x300.png 222w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 301px) 100vw, 301px\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The first things I had to do was strip the doll doll down to it\u2019s core. I removed the face with acetone and cut the hair short with scissors. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23910\" src=\"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/doll-article-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"295\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/doll-article-2.png 295w, https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/doll-article-2-219x300.png 219w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Since the head was already separated from the body I took some tweezers and a scraping tool and removed all the glue and gunk from the inside of her head- to now have a blank slate. I glued the hair on instead of doing it by roots as I knew I would be giving her a hooded cloak and crown and felt this would save me time and energy rather than rebooting her entire head just to have most of it hidden.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">So while the head was detached I did her hair, outfit and make a couple accessories, while the hands were settling to their new body. Once all the paint was dry, hands were solid and her necklace was complete, I attached the head and added her crown. Next I did her face up. I have her a dark lipped smirk, red makeup and gave her some bloody tears, just because I loved the look of it. I added a glaze to the eyes so that they would shine a bit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">I then proceeded to make her a cloak of snakes, as I was struggling to get the snakes to stay onto her how I initially wanted. I painted them black so they wouldn\u2019t stand out too much, but she needed to have snakes with her and I love the ideas of giving them to her on a cloak. For most of the material I used Fabric from Samhain decorations. I hand sewed everything. I then did a blessing with the doll and got her ready to give to my friend who\u2019s deity is Hekate. I just hope I did her justice and think that it suits her well that I made her from three dolls. It would have been amazing to make a 3 headed or bodied doll, but I may try something like that in the future.
