This issue\u2019s WitchCrafting column is connected to a favorite summer activity: collecting shells at the beach. I have a difficult time not filling my pockets with these marine mollusks. Holding them, I can feel the energy of earth, water, fire, and air.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Litha is a special time for capturing the essence of summer, in this case with a wind chime. I used shells that had naturally occurring holes, but instructional videos can be found for drilling them. Thin wire, dental floss, cotton twine, and other fibers can all be used to tie the shells into strips. Arrange them any way that pleases you. I added hag stones, also found at the beach, and would have incorporated sea glass had I found it.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Attach the desired amount of strings to a piece of driftwood, twig, or dowel, and add a length for hanging. Intentions can be infused with every knot, and more energy can be added by charging the wind chime in the summer solstice sun<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t get to a beach, or your beach does not have shells, you can find them at discount stores, tag sales, and online markets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
