Our feline companion and familiar, Jinx, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning.\u00a0 Old, gaunt and confused, we knew it would be selfish to keep him with us any longer.\u00a0 He was a champion.\u00a0 And he will be missed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Friendship Is Magic, Too<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It had been a while since I\u2019d talked to my compadre Mihos.\u00a0 We\u2019d been in the old coven together and had managed to stay in sporadic contact over the years.\u00a0 It would be fun to talk witchery with him again.\u00a0 I texted him to see if he was available.\u00a0 He replied in the affirmative, and in just a few moments we were on the phone debating the pros and cons of our respective neighborhood delis.\u00a0 (Mihos opined that sandwich breads were their greatest lures.\u00a0 I held out for the soft drinks.)\u00a0 After a bit, we both agreed it had been TOO long since we\u2019d last got together.\u00a0 There was only one thing to do.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Road trip.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s go to the Comic Con,\u201d said I.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe New Jersey Comic Fest in Morristown?\u201d\u00a0 Mihos said.\u00a0 \u201cSure!\u201d\u00a0 We made a plan of action, and agreed to talk again the following week.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After I hung up, I realized there had been no discussion of witchery at all.\u00a0 I was ready to pout before I realized I wasn\u2019t looking at this in the right perspective.\u00a0 Friendship is a form of magic in and of itself.\u00a0 Actually, a major form.\u00a0 I chided myself for not realizing it all along\u2014I had found my witchery after all.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
