{"id":3805,"date":"2010-07-01T01:10:45","date_gmt":"2010-07-01T06:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paganpages.org\/content\/?p=3862"},"modified":"2010-06-26T16:54:53","modified_gmt":"2010-06-26T21:54:53","slug":"a-witchs-view-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/2010\/07\/01\/a-witchs-view-7\/","title":{"rendered":"A Witch&#8217;s View"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Is craft part of the Craft?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Even though I\u2019m usually very hard pressed  to find \u2018me time\u2019\u00a0during the week I try to spend an hour or  two at the weekend doing something crafty. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">When I was a child I loved spending time  with a needle and thread or with a paint brush in my hand.\u00a0 I even  had, at one point, dreams of being a fashion designer.\u00a0 Then teenage  years hit, followed by the turbulent twenties and it\u2019s only now I\u2019m  in my 30s that I\u2019ve rediscovered my love of crafting.\u00a0 And this  coincided with my Pagan path.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">I adore taking my camera places then  I\u2019ll edit the photos, tweaking here and there (or hitting delete &#8211;  you have to know when you\u2019re beat sometimes!).\u00a0 And given the  opportunity I\u2019m in the shed mixing resin to make orgonite creations  or I\u2019m messing around with bits of wire and crystals.\u00a0 All these  things bring me a great deal of joy and peace.\u00a0 I get to think  about things which normally I\u2019m too busy to ponder &#8211; it\u2019s a meditation  through creativity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">I know craft projects are not exclusively  Pagan but a lot of followers I know also enjoy getting crafty.\u00a0  Is it the need to make something unique in a cookie cutter world of  consumerism which drives us crafters?\u00a0 Or perhaps the desire to  use our hands and minds in a way that\u2019s missing through \u2018everyday\u2019  life?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">I\u2019d love to know your thoughts. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is craft part of the Craft?
