{"id":5568,"date":"2011-08-01T01:10:34","date_gmt":"2011-08-01T06:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paganpages.org\/content\/?p=5705"},"modified":"2011-07-20T14:08:43","modified_gmt":"2011-07-20T19:08:43","slug":"memyself-and-i-notes-from-a-solitary-practitioner-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paganpages.org\/emagazine\/2011\/08\/01\/memyself-and-i-notes-from-a-solitary-practitioner-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Me,Myself and I, Notes from a Solitary Practitioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings my beloved brother&#8217;s and sisters.\u00a0 In the course of writing a solitary Lammas to share with you it became more and more clear, through my guides, as well as funny &#8220;coincidences&#8221; there are lots of Sabbat celebrations to be found but very few rituals to rid us of the useless baggage we carry.\u00a0 So dear ones, rather than directions for a solitary Sabbat, which comes only once a year, I will instead share a ritual to shed those unwanted items every one of us carry one way or another.<\/p>\n<p>In the interest of honesty and fair play I&#8217;ll go first, guilt.\u00a0 Not just you&#8217;re run of the mill &#8221; I cheated on my income taxes guilt&#8221;, mine feels like the place where all guilt was born.\u00a0 It bids me a cheerful good morning as soon as I open my eyes, and then it lectures me relentlessly as I fall asleep.\u00a0 It is a nasty, ugly mother, and I have decided it MUST go!!!<\/p>\n<p>I could go on but since that&#8217;s the biggie I&#8217;ll leave it at that.\u00a0 The worst thing about this negativity we all carry is that it found out a long time ago what our weak spots are and exactly what it takes to get to us.\u00a0 The problem with leaving these nasty harbingers of some past moment of weakness is that most people can never be truly happy as long as they are present.\u00a0 That, my friends, is why we are going to do a ritual to rid ourselves of these useless guests, and the best part is, there&#8217;s not a damn thing they can do about it!!!!<\/p>\n<p>You can actually do this ritual during whichever moon phase that suits you, I choose full because looking up and seeing the Goddess has a stregthening effect.\u00a0 Waning is also good since we&#8217;re removing something.\u00a0 I use the words &#8220;Full Moons watchful gaze&#8221;, obviously you can substitute what works best for you.\u00a0 And here we go:<\/p>\n<p>Beneath the full moon&#8217;s watchful gaze<\/p>\n<p>My negative habits I set a blaze<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t move forward until they&#8217;re gone<\/p>\n<p>And now I&#8217;m ready to stop holding on<\/p>\n<p>Strength of self I can&#8217;t achieve<\/p>\n<p>Until these flaws and thoughts are made to leave<\/p>\n<p>I pour all my energy into the words I write<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s my intent this be done tonight<\/p>\n<p>Each paper is folded, in the cauldron it&#8217;s placed<\/p>\n<p>I then walk the witches circle and each element I face<\/p>\n<p>I kindly ask that each of them lend their strong yet gentle grace<\/p>\n<p>I then call the God and Goddess in a voice both strong and clear<\/p>\n<p>I thank them for they&#8217;re presence and ask they take my faults away from here<\/p>\n<p>As I watch the fire begin to grow<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s then that in my heart I know<\/p>\n<p>Witchcraft is the best of me<\/p>\n<p>This is my will so mote it be!<\/p>\n<p>For an awesome effect that really helps with the visualization process, after you add the folded pages to the cauldron, sprinkle them liberally with Isopropyl Alcohol.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t go crazy just make sure all the pages are wet.\u00a0 Once you raise you&#8217;re power to make them leave, use a wooden match, strike it and drop it in!\u00a0\u00a0 The effect that follows is great to give you that extra vision.\u00a0 A word of caution, it&#8217;s a good idea to do this outside.\u00a0 It&#8217;s very uncomfotable to explain to your local firefighters why you have a big cauldron set ablaze in a room that contains evrey find of pagan decoration known to man,lol!\u00a0 You can apply this to other things, but it has never let me down.\u00a0 This is also a great ritual to do in a group setting, have evrybody write a wish on a piece of paper, then have everyone place their hand over it to empower it.\u00a0 You can add herbs of all sorts,or ask each participant to bring an herb that coincides with their wish.<\/p>\n<p>Blessed Be<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings my beloved brother&#8217;s and sisters.\u00a0 In the course of writing a solitary Lammas to share with you it became more and more clear, through my guides, as well as funny &#8220;coincidences&#8221; there are lots of Sabbat celebrations to be found but very few rituals to rid us of the useless baggage we carry.\u00a0 So dear ones, rather than directions for a solitary Sabbat, which comes only once a year, I will instead share a ritual to shed those unwanted items every one of us carry one way or another.
