Like many others I saw Fairy Kingdom and most of it’s inhabitants as cute little creatures who meant no harm or at least only played tricks. Reading this book I learned how wrong I was, but more important I learned how to deal with these pest and which are actually good to eat. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The author has done significant research into the areas he discusses and gives examples of how he has dealt with a number of troublesome creatures for the Fairy Kingdom. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Most would consider Brownies beneficial creatures in that they like to take care of houses, making tea and ironing handkerchiefs. What many of us forget is that these small kindly creatures can turn into very destructive Boggarts. Fortunately, once found they can be urged to leave with a new set of clothes and a letter of appreciation. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dwarfs on the other hand are a little harder to deal with. It seems these creatures like to turn themselves into seemingly harmless items like stones or tree stumps. These can be a particular problem for farmers when they show up in his fields. Proper handling of these creatures is necessary to prevent retribution by the Dwarfs. In this case, it is bringing in outside help could be needed. The author is kind enough to list those who can help \u2013 Druids and list contact information. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I was totally unaware of how dangerous goblins can be in chicken coops. These creatures can take the form of chickens creating all kinds of havoc with their eggs. Some creatures of Faeries can be helpful, such as Flower Faeries. Detailed instructions are given on how to enhance one’s garden with the use of carefully collected Flower Faeries grafted onto plants or trees. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This book is full of useful information on dealing with pixies, gnomes (which are supposed to be good eating), first aide for Faerie shot and how to avoid been pulled into the Kingdom of Faery. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I was particularly impressed by the list of resources and organizations and further reading. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
