Framing Your Question<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sometimes you come to a reading with a generalized sense of anxiety.\u00a0 There\u2019s no particular question, you just want an answer.\u00a0 An answer to what?\u00a0\u00a0 You don\u2019t really know.\u00a0 All you know is that you need to know what you don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I feel like this quite often.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m doing or where I\u2019m going.\u00a0 I have had an argument with a friend and I feel frustrated.\u00a0 I have writer\u2019s block and cannot break through.\u00a0 I have errands to run, but I am agoraphobic; I need to know if it is okay for me to leave the house.\u00a0 I shuffle my tarot cards or I start making tea for a reading.\u00a0 I still don\u2019t know what I want to know but I know I have to find out.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first thing I need to do is prepare myself for a reading.\u00a0 I like to cast a simple circle by lighting incense and setting it in the east, lighting a candle & setting it in the south, placing a cup of salt water in the west, and lastly, a crystal in the north.\u00a0 I sit in the middle and meditate until I feel settled and hopefully serene.\u00a0 Serenity doesn\u2019t always happen.\u00a0 Sometimes I play music but I prefer the sound of the chirping birds.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When I feel ready, I lay out my cards or I sip my tea and swirl the tea leaves or toss the coins \u2026 whatever I am doing.\u00a0 Even without a set question, answers come.\u00a0 Sometimes, it is an \u201cAha!\u201d moment.\u00a0 It\u2019s \u201cOh so that\u2019s what I was missing!\u201d or even \u201cDUH!\u201d\u00a0 But sometimes I stare at the cards or the tea leaves and I am even more confused than before.\u00a0 Even though I am tempted to just pick the cards up and start over or pour another cup of tea or re-toss the coins, it is important to write down whatever it is I have in front of me right now.\u00a0 Even though it seems like I don\u2019t have a clear answer, it may be I am not able to see it right now.\u00a0 I have gone back to readings weeks, months, even years later, and the meaning of the reading has jumped out at me.\u00a0 So be sure to always write your readings down, date them, and revisit them.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n After a reading, thank the spirits who helped you interpret the reading, even if you don\u2019t feel you gained very much.\u00a0 You always have gained something, even if you are mired in confusion.\u00a0 The reading stays with you and as you sleep, the images will play out in your dreams.\u00a0 As the answers come to you, so will the question.\u00a0 And as you learn to frame your question, you will get a better reading, and a better answer.<\/p>\n Many blessings!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Framing Your Question Sometimes you come to a reading with a generalized sense of anxiety.\u00a0 There\u2019s no particular question, you just want an answer.\u00a0 An answer to what?\u00a0\u00a0 You don\u2019t really know.\u00a0 All you know is that you need to know what you don\u2019t know.
