September\u2019s Book of Seasons<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yea! \u00a0Fall is finally here! \u00a0I adore the fall with its change in weather and amazing food in the farmer\u2019s market. \u00a0Apples are everywhere as are pumpkins. \u00a0It is the sparkle of<\/p>\n

Samhain just around the corner that makes September so happily anticipated in my house!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our affirmation for September is<\/p>\n

I find my balance and restore my energy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The world is a constantly changing environment full of noise and all things artificial. \u00a0We who look to nature for grounding and spiritual wisdom can have a hard time locating sacred space. \u00a0I propose we consider the simple idea of using the power of intent and an organic apple to center ourselves.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you cut an apple in half around it\u2019s circumference, it will reveal a star. When viewed as a whole you will discover a pentagram. \u00a0With a single apple in your hand you hold the mystery of Gaia. \u00a0Blessing the apple brings sacredness to the simple act of eating. \u00a0\u00a0I love the quiet in-breath of a blessing. \u00a0Here is a morning prayer my daughter learned in Waldorf kindergarten. \u00a0It feels perfect for fall!<\/p>\n

Good morning Dear Earth, Good morning Dear Sun,<\/p>\n

Good morning Dear Trees and Stones every one,<\/p>\n

Good morning Dear Beasts and Birds in the Tree<\/p>\n

Good morning to You and Good Morning to me!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at food for September.<\/p>\n

Cooking and preparing apples are not in my skill set mainly because I do not care for cooked fruit. \u00a0My husband does not understand seeing how he comes from the \u201cfruit belt\u201d of this country and his mother was a great cook! \u00a0But apples are the perfect food for September and I do slice them and dry them by stringing them. \u00a0They are then ready for trail mix or breakfast cereal or just simply snacking on. \u00a0\u00a0Plus they look so pretty hanging in the windows along with my herbs. \u00a0There will be plenty of time spent dehydrating herbs and preparing medicinal salves, honey and supplements. \u00a0Like the squirrels, fall is the time to take stock and prepare.<\/p>\n

There will be a lot of work to do in order to prepare for winter, but for now, enjoy the perfectly balanced energy of September!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
