The Season of the Witch is upon us once again and Samhain is just about here!\u00a0 This spell is adapted from a Witch Tin Kit I created for my store, Under The New Moon.\u00a0 You will need the following objects to complete this Spell and Enchantment.\u00a0 We will be doing an Enchantment first, then an actual Ritual…so this article covers a 2-fer for your October…to make it all the more Enchanted!\u00a0 Let\u2019s dig in!<\/p>\n

\n

\u00a0\u00a0 We will start with the Object Enchantment first.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 The main focus of this enchantment is for PROTECTION (of house, home, self, family.<\/strong>)\u00a0 The Enchantment is an \u201cobject enchantment<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 You will need to find an object suitable for enchanting from your home or purchase something that you wish to enchant.\u00a0 This item can be a gemstone, a necklace, a sun catcher, a scarecrow in your front yard is an excellent choice, a pumpkin on your porch or mantle…you get the idea.<\/p>\n

\n

So, items you need for this:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Altar cloth or clean table surface<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Object you will be enchanting<\/strong><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Tealight candle<\/strong><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Incense (if you wish)<\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s it…<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Okay, you have your items and now we\u2019re going to talk a little bit about enchantments.\u00a0 Everyone likes the word \u201cenchant\u201d but we, as a society, use this in a \u201cfairytale\u201d sort of way a lot of times.\u00a0 To enchant is to actually \u201cspeak over and imbue something with your words, power and intent.\u201d\u00a0 It is to give the thing you\u2019re enchanting, \u2018orders from headquarters,\u2019 and hop -to and do its new job!\u00a0 You are in essence, imbuing the object with your own power; corresponding herbs, oils, objects of your intent; and sealing it with a spell that is heard, as you know in the Universe and goes to the ear(s) of your God\/Goddess for provision.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Enchantments are EASY and, more importantly, POWERFUL talismans of magick.\u00a0 They are easy to do, and just about anything can be enchanted.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, with your items in front of you, light your incense and tealight, (open your circle and ground\/protect yourself if this is your custom<\/em>).\u00a0 This object you have chosen will be a PROTECTIVE TALISMAN<\/strong> for your family, your pets, your home, your property, your car…everything associated with where you abide….to keep you and yours SAFE<\/strong> during the Autumn Seasons.\u00a0 This is a WARDING<\/strong> agent.\u00a0 It wards evil and things that don\u2019t belong there and keeps them away<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

1. Lay out your altar cloth on a clean table<\/p>\n

2. Sit down in front of table where your object is.\u00a0 Close your eyes and visualize white light around you protecting you and cleansing you from head to toe.\u00a0 Stay with this visualization until you feel good about it.\u00a0 Then open your eyes.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Hold the object in your dominant hand (the one you write with), or if it is too big (as in the case of a pumpkin or scarecrow for the front yard, lay your dominant hand on it, and blow your breath on the object<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Protect this family, I enchant you tonight,<\/p>\n

By the Magick of Harvest Home, this spell is spun,<\/p>\n

As I will, So Mote it Be, \u2018An harm it none.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 7.\u00a0 Now, take your hand off of the object.\u00a0 Visualize the object taking on a \u201clife force\u201d of it\u2019s own (I.e., if you use a scarecrow for example, visualize it coming to life and watching over your neighborhood and home at night.\u00a0 If you use a gemstone, visualize it forming an \u201call-seeing eye\u201d that sees and knows any threat that you come across and protects you from harm…) Once you have the visualization down, then say repetitively (at least 3x):<\/p>\n

I add my intent to make you real,<\/p>\n

With my words I enchant you to do my will.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8.\u00a0 After you are done with the chant, close your circle if you cast one, and place your object in a front and center place of stature in your home or outside in your front yard to keep you safe during the Fall Season.\u00a0 If it is a wearable item, wear it as often as possible. When not being worn, keep it in a dish in your front entry (on a front entry table, etc.)<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it!\u00a0 You now have an honestly enchanted object to help protect you and your family this Fall!<\/p>\n

Now to our Samhain Protection Spell Ritual!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Samhain Ritual<\/strong><\/p>\n

In getting ready for your Ritual, you will need the following items:<\/p>\n

\n

* Black Sand or Black Salt<\/p>\n

* Garlic<\/p>\n

*White Salt<\/p>\n

*Black Sequins<\/p>\n

*Bag of Glass Beads (with white, black and purple in them)<\/p>\n

*Bell (any size)<\/p>\n

*Candy (8 small pieces total)<\/p>\n

*Muslin Pouch<\/p>\n

* a quiet place, not to be disturbed<\/p>\n

* an incense that you really like that helps you calm down<\/p>\n

* a pre-ritual shower (if so desired) to get the days\u2019 negativity off of you<\/p>\n

* a lighter<\/p>\n

* a tealight holder (for the tealight candle, or a piece of heavy duty foil underneath the tealight to protect your surface)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n

Now…we\u2019re going to set up your altar (the place where you will be doing your ritual) –<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

~ Lay out a black altar cloth or any color you prefer<\/p>\n

~ Put the tealight holder to your right on the altar (or foil if that\u2019s what you\u2019re using)<\/p>\n

~Place your incense holder (if you are using incnense) to your left upper corner<\/p>\n

~ ~Take the black sand, and go outside and sprinkle the black sand around the perimeter of your entire property.\u00a0 Best to do this as evening is approaching<\/em><\/strong>. Then go inside<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

~ Take the white salt and go into the 4 corners of your house (whichever rooms those are, and throw a pinch of salt into each of the farthest 4 corners of your house and one pinch at the front door, one pinch at the back door (if you have side doors, do it there too.\u00a0 But do the 4 corners of the house first.<\/p>\n

~Stand in front of your altar and close your eyes and visualize the salt beaming up like crystal beams all around you protecting you during your ritual.\u00a0 Stay with this visualization till you feel it takes within you.<\/p>\n

Once you have felt the light around you and you are calm and breathing deeply, then sit and go ahead (either perform your circle casting, calling elements, etc. ONLY IF YOU WISH) and light your tealight candle and your incense.<\/p>\n

Say:<\/p>\n

\u201cI call upon the Ancient Ones,<\/p>\n

To help me with this spell to be spun.<\/p>\n

Protect me now as I say my heart,<\/p>\n

Keep all evil away so this Spell can start.\u201d<\/p>\n

By now, a bit of wax pool should be forming on the tealight candle.\u00a0 Take a good pinch of the garlic granules (organic) and sprinkle on top of the tealight.\u00a0 Seeing a couple of tiny sparks is an excellent sign.\u00a0 Do another pinch if you wish, just not so much as to burn the candle out.<\/p>\n

\n

Take your bell and while sitting or standing, shake the bell in the top left corner of your altar, then the top right corner, then the bottom left corner and then the bottom right corner and lay it down.\u00a0 A bell clears out negativity from you, your aura, and the room space.\u00a0 The garlic in the candle keeps evil and entities you do not wish to be there, away; along with the salt and sand you spread out earlier.<\/p>\n

\n

Sit and Breathe in the scents<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 Focus<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Remember: your intent for this<\/p>\n

Spell is PROTECTION.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With PROTECTION<\/strong> as your focus, take your pouch.<\/p>\n

Place the pouch over the tealight (but obviously without letting it get burnt) and let the scent of the garlic infuse into it for a minute or so.\u00a0 As you do this, visualize protection and safety for you and your family.<\/p>\n

~Next, take the black string and tie 4 knots into it as equally spaced out as you are able.\u00a0 While doing this, say:<\/p>\n

\u201c4 Knots for Protection At Its Best,<\/strong><\/p>\n

These 4 knots shall be put to the Test.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Protection comes our way today,<\/strong><\/p>\n

And stays with us through New Year\u2019s Day.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

(at which time, you should re-do another New Year\u2019s Protection Spell.)<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

~Place the string into the muslin pouch.<\/p>\n

~Place Two white beads into the pouch and say:<\/p>\n

\u201cThese beads show what will take place<\/strong><\/p>\n

To trespassers who harm us in our space.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Place the black beads in and focus on the black absorbing all negativity or ill wishes that may be sent your way from anyone.<\/p>\n

Place the purple bead in while visualizing the love of God \/ Goddess & the power of Good.<\/p>\n

Place the remainder of the garlic in the pouch.<\/p>\n

\n

Take the sequins and put 4 into the pouch.\u00a0 Sprinkle the rest around your altar or a candle in your home (this ties the home to the pouch.)\u00a0 While doing this, focus on the richness of your family\u2019s lives together, your love, and that all negativity will be absorbed.<\/p>\n

Eat 4 candies<\/p>\n

Put 4 candies into the pouch.<\/p>\n

Hang the pouch by a door,<\/p>\n

Or keep on your person or purse.<\/p>\n

\n

Then say<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u201cProtection is Spun, It is Here…<\/strong><\/p>\n

It shall last \u2018till the New Year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you for the Bounty I See,<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can now close your circle, release the quarters\/elements, etc. (if you chose to do that), or simply clean up your space, thank your God\/Goddess (or both) as in the spell above and put your pouch where you would like it.\u00a0 Throw away any items not necessary to keep, and feel free to keep the bell for future spells (preferably of the same nature.) The candle and incense should be let to burn out completely or you may snuff them out when you are done.<\/p>\n
