The No-Makeup Makeup for Lammas

Lammas is the time of year to take it easy, relax, and enjoy the warmth of summer and the sun. By now my skin is it´s most tanned, and looks best with minimal makeup.

Effortless and natural beauty is the core here. Making it look like I´ve just rolled out of bed in the morning, and simply looking good as is. The truth is far from it, but nobody needs to know, right?!

Here´s the diy to my nude makeup for Lammas:

This is the naked truth, the bare beginning, a clean face with only moisturizer on it. I have not much to celebrate, having hardly any color in my features to begin with (despite the fact that this is the most tanned I ever get). So there is work to do!

These are my weapons against a dull face. I use mostly mineral makeup, and am not particularly picky about the colors. Somewhere around there does the trick when applied with care

Which side of the face looks healthier, brighter, simply better? On the left there is makeup applied, on the right none whatsoever.

Lash curlers are one of my most important tools. I have rather long lashes, which is great, but they are such straight spikes, that they cannot even be seen up front

?What a difference! Of course black mascara makes them even more visible, but without curling the result would be depressing. =)

?I love my super soft kabuki brush! I apply powder and finishing powder with it. Just have got to remember to wash it with soap every now and then.

For the nude look, I settle for light bronzer as blush.

Only clear fixing gel for eyebrows. It makes a huge difference to have neat brows nicely in place, instead of messy ones pointing to every direction, especially down. That makes a person appear sad and tired.

?I always apply lighter eyeshadow to the inner eye, and darker to the outer to open up the gaze. When done with ivory and subtle brown, the result looks nothing but all-natural light and shadow. This mineral eyeshadow powder glitters slightly to celebrate the summer holiday season.

?Voilá! All done, all natural, but so much more fresh than before. So totally worth the while!

  Here´s the how-to:
1. The skin: Cover up any possible blemishes or redness with concealer, using a small brush. Apply light reflecting concealer under the eyes, around the nose, and a tiny bit above the upper lip to add the illusion of plumpness. Only light finishing powder is needed on top of the previous, all over the face and on eyelids, because the beautiful tanned summer skin should shine through as well as possible. Finishing powder only absorbs any excess oil and shine that may occur during the hot days of this late summer/early fall season.
2. The cheeks: Apply relatively light bronzer (with shimmer if desired) on and underneath the cheekbones to give both color and shape.
3. The eyes: Add some ivory kohl on the lower rim of the eyes. That will open and brighten up your eyes a great deal. Then apply glittery ivory eyeshadow to the inner 2/3 of the moving eyelid, letting the edge spread into and slightly over the crease, blending the edges well. On the outer 1/3 of the moving lid apply medium brown eyeshadow, letting it spread into the crease again, and slightly over it towards the end of your brows. Blend the edges super well, so it looks like a shadow. Curl the lashes, and coat them with black mascara. Be careful not to add too much, so the result will look natural. Mascara goes on the upper lashes only to lift up the eye.
4. The lips: Glossy clear lipgloss, generously.

Now you´re beautiful and ready to receive compliments! Congrats!

Fabulous Lammas to us all!
