Weyland’s Whey September 2025 Blood Moon Eclipse Column

Full Moon

Call it the Blood Moon.

It’s subject to a total lunar eclipse on September 7th-8th, depending on the observer’s time zone.  It will take about 3 1/2 hours for the Earth to pass before the moon. Totality (when Earth’s shadow fully covers the moon) will take about 1 hour, 22 minutes.

Sorry, Pilgrims, this show won’t be visible from the US. It will be seen from Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and New Zealand. According to NASA, the next total lunar eclipse seen from this country will be on March 3rd, 2026.

Now, maybe we won’t be able to see it, but the astrological impact will still be present. Consider this Blood Moon to be a spiritual reset–illusions will be dissolved, intuitions heightened, and emotions released. Think cosmic drama! A normal Blood Moon is often thought of as a call for release and renewal, a time to let go of that which no longer serves you. The eclipse will magnify all that.

Prepare yourself.

Color Schemes

Red.

Colors can give any spell a boost. They have special meanings and characteristics in magic and can add to practitioner focus and spell intensity. Red is especially good for energy, action, passion, protection and love. Like using a red candle for passion spellwork or a ruby–or financial times being what they are these days, a reasonable facsimile thereof–for courage spells. It works with clothing, too. Try a red cap or scarf for protection or energy (or both). Crystals and flowers are magically influenced by their colors, too.

Just remember that these hues are subjective and will vary in influence with the practitioner and the culture. White in China, for instance, means bad luck, death and morning as well as the more familiar (at least to Westerners) purity. Be advised–fine tune your color magic.

And enjoy.
