Earth Magic: A Grimoire of Nature Spells is a beautifully illustrated, designed, and practical book of spells involving nature. Be it trees, flowers or herbs, this grimoire really does contain just about every (non-toxic) plant that would be common for witchcraft practitioners. The spells themselves are original to the author, with this book being a compilation of three of her previous spellbooks. I received my copy of this book a couple months ago and worked with it in the time leading up to this review. The spells are effective, and most of the time, the materials needed are easily accessible.
Being that Earth Magic uses natural ingredients, these spells can do anything you need-from protection, reversing, return to sender, love, money or spiritual magic, these spells are perfect for the nature lovers. The spells themselves are organized into sections-Trees, Herbs and Flowers. The one caveat I have is that there is no index where you can cross reference a specific flower, herb or tree. For instance, I have cast magic with my fall-colored chysanthemums; finding spells with those flowers was a bit more difficult because of the lack of an index.
Other than that critique, I’ve found Earth Magic to be a wonderful addition to my library’s collection, adding a natural touch to my witchcraft practices. I especially found the alternate plant listing for each spell (where possible), and the make your own spell guidelines in the back to be of particular value. The botanical correspondences in the back are also a wonderful, at-a-glance reference for any nature magic you may want to cast!
Particular favorite spells of mine included multiple Oak spells, as well as some of the unique herbal spells. These spells can be cast by anyone of any experience level-as long as you can read and have faith that your spell will become reality. I’ve had success with multiple spells I’ve used from Earth Magic, but don’t just take it from me: grab a copy for yourself and find out! This is a wonderful gift idea for the witch or herbalist in your life! I give it a 5/5 Pentagram rating.
