BEAR

In the wind

I hear the sound

In the sky

I see the sight

In the fire

I smell the heat

and I am another self again.

My fur keeps the rain off

keeps the pain off

My hide keeps the cold out

keeps the words out

My claws dig the earth deep

dig my thoughts deep

and I am strong.

Stronger than fear

Stronger than hate

Stronger than hopelessness

and my roar drowns apathy.
