What Do You Need Tarot with Lady Saoirse

Bright Blessings,
By now, you will have gotten acquainted with your Tarot and Oracle cards, got comfortable with reading from them, and after a while, you will be called upon to read for others. Trust me, if it hasn’t happened yet, it will.
It will take you some time to gain confidence when you read for people. It can be nerve wracking to be watched, especially if you aren’t used to it. You may worry that they think you are wrong, and worry you gave the wrong advice. Note- don’t give other people advice until you are sure you are accurate- but that is another topic. Once you get over that hump and are reading for other people, you will get a plethora of different people who come to you.
If you are practicing at Meetups or gatherings, reading online, or reading professionally in person, you are going to get as many different types of requests as you get clients to read for. Each person is an individual, and they all have different preferences, needs, beliefs, and reasons they want a reading. If you feel reading is a sacred calling, you will want to be flexible, adapting your approach to each person, ensuring their needs are met.
You might become very upset if someone walks away unhappy. You may think over and over what you could have done differently. What could have been better? What can you learn from this to make yourself a better reader so you can accommodate absolutely everybody, be the best reader for everybody, and meet all needs for all people?
Let me stop you right there.
Please don’t do that to yourself. No reader can read for all people and meet all needs. Like we all want our own doctor and don’t want to see certain doctors who upset us, we all have our own hair stylist who cuts our hair JUST right, and we all have our favorite restaurants, each client has their favorite or favorite readers- and also readers they dislike. There is one person who I want you to always think of accommodating every time no matter what.
You.
Sounds selfish doesn’t it?
That is one hundred percent fine with me. Because I guarantee, almost every last client won’t give two fucks about you. So, somebody has to. You have to give one fuck, two fucks, red fucks, blue fucks about yourself. You have to think about what you need so you can be a reader. Or you can’t read.
Let that process for a minute.
If you are not accommodated, then you can’t help other people by reading for them. That means your needs, preferences, and comfort levels come before anything. Even if it conflicts with what a client wants. Even if it earns you less clients. Even if people accuse you of being difficult. Even if it seems petty or unnecessary. It’s necessary because it sets you up to do better readings.
If you are in a too hot or too cold environment, you won’t be able to focus as well to read. If you are going on no sleep because you busted your ass to get to an event or shop outside of your regular schedule, you won’t read as well. If you are sick, call off, because #1, nobody needs to catch what you have and #2, you are not up to reading. If you just went through a breakup, take some time off. You don’t need to read about love and romance for other people.
The list is endless.
You have to decide what your needs and comfort levels are.
Remember, we are not Catholic nuns and Priests on a vow of poverty. We are psychics, mediums, and advisors. We provide spiritual counseling, life coaching, and psychic insight to people. Almost all of us have a so-called “day job” where we earn a living wage, and we do all this on the side as a service for our community. We may FEEL the need to do this as a calling, but we don’t NEED it. It doesn’t pay the bills, in other words. People need us, however.
They also need us to be our very best and we can’t be that if we are not sleeping, eating, setting up our reading spaces comfortably, or doing all the other things we are supposed to do to take care of ourselves. So maybe you think it seems viciously, unacceptably greedy to give a fuck about yourself and your needs and comfort levels as a reader, but it is crucial, both for yourself and the people who you serve.
So let’s list things to consider, shall we?
- What temperatures do you need to read in?
- Are you comfortable indoors in climate control or outdoors in all weather?
- What price are you comfortable with and what methods of payment do you prefer to accept?
- How many hours are comfortable for you to read?
- What clientele do you NOT want to work with- and don’t work with them.
- What days and times accommodate you?
- Are you willing to travel and if so, what travel requirements do you have?
- What topics do you refuse to read about?
- Are you comfortable being alone in a closed room with strangers?
- Do you prefer to give readings in open spaces where there are others?
These are just some things to take into account. Obviously, the longer you read, the more you know what accommodates you most. You don’t have to know right away what works best. Experiment, talk to other readers, and listen to yourself. You can’t pour lifegiving water from an empty vessel, and if you are depleted, you can’t use your psychic abilities to heal, guide, enlighten, and reveal hidden truths. So take care of yourself, read on your own terms, and give a fuck about yourself.
If you don’t nobody will.
Blesed Be
Lady Saoirse is a practicing witch, and initiated Wiccan of an Eclectic Tradition.
A recovered Catholic, she was raised to believe in heaven and hell, that there is only one god, and only one way to believe. As she approached her late 20’s, little things started to show her this was all wrong. She was most inspired by the saying “God is too big to fit into one religion” and after a heated exchange with the then associate pastor of the last Xtian church she attended, she finally realized she was in no way Xtian, and decided to move on to see where she could find her spiritual home.
Her homecoming to her Path was after many years of being called to The Old Ways and the Goddess, and happened in Phoenix, Arizona. She really did rise from her own ashes!
Upon returning to Ohio, she thought Chaos Magic was the answer, and soon discovered it was actually Wicca. She was blessed with a marvelous mentor, Lord Shadow, and started a Magical Discussion Group at local Metaphysical Shop Fly by Night. The group was later dubbed A Gathering of Paths. For a few years, this group met, discussed, did rituals, fellowship, and volunteering together, and even marched as a Pagan group with members of other groups at the local gay Pride Parade for eight years.
All the while, she continued studying with her mentor, Lord Shadow, and she became a Third Degree High Priestess in 2022 and is a Priestess of the Temple of the Goddess. She belongs to the Black Dragon Clan. She does readings, Sabbats, and classes in her hometown in Ohio. She has been with PaganPages.org since 2016 and writes for SpiritualBlossom, and Mysticsense.
