When a New Answer Comes Up for Tarot with Lady Saoirse

Bright Blessings,

Don’t you love it when somebody asks you a specific question in a Tarot reading, and you start getting information to answer a completely different issue? I’ve had this come up for me when people were asking about romance especially. The people who are asking about a new person who doesn’t seem to be interested in them or isn’t’ putting time into the relationship tend to have underlying issues that draw them to people that ignore them. It’s hard to admit to yourself that someone isn’t interested in you when you’re so crazy about them and I’d say at least 20% of the readings that I give entail this conversation.

What is it that makes us hold out for someone who clearly doesn’t care to be involved with us? A lot of things. Quite often, it stems from not getting what you needed growing up as a child. If you are loved growing up and taught that you are valuable, you are a lot less likely to waste your time on people who don’t act like you are. You’re more likely to feel emotionally secure enough that you don’t have to prove yourself to someone and you’re more likely to step away from someone if they don’t give you what you want in a relationship. There are people who have come to me for multiple readings about the same issue that they have over and over again with different people. These readings are always started with a question “ Have I found the one for me?” To fully answer that question entails more than just saying no.

This isn’t the only type of reading that brings up another issue that needs to be read about. The powers that be speak to us when we open our psychic abilities to receiving messages whether the messages are for ourselves or other people. While that channel of awareness is open, all different kinds of messages can rush in. If somebody’s asking you about their career and you get a message about their health, what should you do? If somebody is asking you what the next quarter of college is going to be like for them, and you get a message from their best friend who passed away, what should you do? If somebody asks you about their engagement and you don’t get anything in the reading about that relationship at all, but you get a message that the person is going to go through with things anyways, what should you do?

Since someone is paying for me to answer a specific question I will answer the question to the best of my ability, but if something else comes up in that reading I am going to point it out to them. The psychic messages that I get come to me from multiple sources when I’m reading. Sometimes someone’s spirit guide is whispering to me something that they need to be told. I’ve had people ask me to communicate the dead before, and the dead answer the questions. Sometimes I don’t have any idea where the answers are coming from, but I know something is trying to communicate with the person who I’m reading for. Those messages come through for a reason.

That reason is because there’s some information that the person who you’re reading for needs to know. Sometimes it’s not great news and somebody’s not going to be too happy to hear it, but you can decide how you deliver that news. First and foremost, though, you need to answer the question you’ve been asked. Then there are multiple ways to go about delivering the unexpected news. I have actually heard of Tarot readers asking their clients if they want the bad news as well as the good news from a reading, because some people do not want any bad news at all. Some readers only the answer the question that they’re asked. This is partially because of time constraints.

A lot of people pay for short readings because they want to save money, and I completely understand that. There was a time when I, myself was in between jobs and I had to consider whether I could afford to pay $3 for a container of sage to season dinner with. So, you won’t find me criticizing people if they take the shortest, least expensive reading that they can get. People’s finances are none of my business. It’s also not a reader’s responsibility to give free time in a reading. So, if you have someone who pays you to do a quick one card draw which is supposed to last five to 10 minutes, and four different issues come up and they’ve only asked one question, you’re not a bad person if you only answer the question they asked you.

If you have more time and you have thoroughly answered the question, a very simple way to bring up the other issue is to simply ask your client if the reading made sense and if they got all the information they needed to answer their question. If they say yes and you have more time left, you can say to them “ Now, something came up while I was doing the reading and I was wondering if you would like me to share that with you?” A lot of people are going to want you to answer that, especially because there’s time left which they have more than paid for. Some people literally don’t want to hear it though, and they want to use the rest of their time to answer a different question that they have in mind.

It’s always difficult for me if I have a message for someone at a reading that they have asked me to give and they don’t want to hear it, especially when I can tell but it’s important and would help them if they would listen. I have actually had a couple of people that I’ve read for over the years who did not want to listen to anything that was said, and they shut down during the reading. Truthfully, it’s a waste of my time for someone to sit down in front of me to begin with if that’s their attitude, but in American society, people believe that if they’re paying you for something that you have to do whatever they want. If somebody doesn’t want the information that you have, that’s their right and their business. Answer the question that they’ve asked you first, then find out if they want the rest of the information and move on.

If you are meant to be a reader, you will have plenty of opportunities to help people, guide them, and act as a spiritual counselor. So don’t worry if somebody rejects the opportunity to hear everything that would benefit them.

Blessed Be.

Lady Saoirse is a practicing witch, and initiated Wiccan of an Eclectic Tradition.

A recovered Catholic, she was raised to believe in heaven and hell, that there is only one god, and only one way to believe. As she approached her late 20’s, little things started to show her this was all wrong. She was most inspired by the saying “God is too big to fit into one religion” and after a heated exchange with the then associate pastor of the last Xtian church she attended, she finally realized she was in no way Xtian, and decided to move on to see where she could find her spiritual home.

Her homecoming to her Path was after many years of being called to The Old Ways and the Goddess, and happened in Phoenix, Arizona. She really did rise from her own ashes!

Upon returning to Ohio, she thought Chaos Magic was the answer, and soon discovered it was actually Wicca. She was blessed with a marvelous mentor, Lord Shadow, and started a Magical Discussion Group at local Metaphysical Shop Fly by Night. The group was later dubbed A Gathering of Paths. For a few years, this group met, discussed, did rituals, fellowship, and volunteering together, and even marched as a Pagan group with members of other groups at the local gay Pride Parade for eight years.

All the while, she continued studying with her mentor, Lord Shadow, and she became a Third Degree High Priestess in 2022 and is a Priestess of the Temple of the Goddess. She belongs to the Black Dragon Clan. She does readings, Sabbats, and classes in her hometown in Ohio. She has been with PaganPages.org since 2016 and writes for Green Egg, SpiritualBlossom, and Mysticsense.
