It’s In The Cards
Dear Reader, Welcome to ‘It’s In the Cards’ for www.PaganPages.org. At one time this column appeared in Finer Things Magazine in New Haven, CT, and I am very pleased to be writing my column again; this time for the Pagan Community. Every month, I will do a tarot reading for one person whose question I choose for this column. Also, by writing me, you will have a chance for a free tarot 10 minute reading on the phone. If you would like to contact me about purchasing a reading, please visit my web site at www.SubRosaMagick.com or write me at [email protected]. Since I first began reading for the public 13…

Greetings from Afar
The Flight Home The telephone rang at three o’clock. Barbara glanced out the window… dark as the inside of a pile of coal. Then she looked at the clock on the nightstand by her bed. Who could be calling at such an ungodly hour? The thought frightened her. Instinct told her that it just had to be bad news. She rolled over and glared at it for a moment or two and then groggily picked up the receiver, answering on the third ring… “Hello?” She whispered sleepily. Silence. In the background she could hear the muffled sounds that accompany large numbers of people packed into a small and crowded space.…

Esoteric Christian Witch
May has always been known as the month of Mary, the mother of Yeshua/Jesus. In fact, the main verse of a long-beloved hymn, sung during the crowning with roses of the statue of Mary in May entitled “Bring Flowers of the Rarest” is, “Oh, Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the angels, Queen of the May”. There are several feast days of Mary that are celebrated in the Church in May. May 12th is the feast day of Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd, May 15th is in honor of Our Lady of Fatima, May 24th for Our Lady, Help of Christians and May 31st celebrates both…

Tri-State Interfaith Festival
Greetings to those reading this. I want to take a minute and sum up what this festival is all about. I personally got tired of dealing with everything wrong in this world: The corrupt political views, the destruction of our environment, the petty labels that society places upon those to cause separation and segregation. The sole fundamentals of this festival is I’m asking everyone for just one weekend out of a year to put aside all your mainstream prejudices and come together, people concerned about humanity and nature. I invite all paths of beliefs: Christian, Wicca, Pagan, Hindu, Muslim, Native American, Voodoo, Methodist, Agnostic, Protestant, Catholic, and all the others…

Callie’s Cavern
Fairy Cross Stone There are two kinds of Fairy Cross Stones, Andalusite and Staurolite. Andalusite has markings that resemble a cross; these stones are naturally long tubes with the cross on one or both ends. Andalusite is oftentimes tumbled. Staurolite resembles crosses themselves and is often found on a larger matrix. Both stones have the same meaning and are often called Fairy Cross Stones. The name Fairy Cross Stone gives hint to the stone’s power. These stones are thought to attract fairies and therefore they represent the four elements and their power. They help you balance these elements. Fairy Cross Stones also help you see past illusion. Using the power…

A Simple Path: Journey of a Hedgewitch
*The Hedgewitch lives in the space between the Village and the Forest. Between the mundane and the magical. S/He lives with a foot in both worlds. This column is dedicated to the Hedgewitches of the planet earth. May In the Hedge: Be The Mountain In my study of yoga, I found some underlying principles which are generally Buddhist in nature, that fascinated me, ever since. There are 4 basic principles: 1. Love 2. Joy 3. Compassion 4. Equinamity Now, these first 3, I have them licked! I love love in all its many forms. I have no trouble incorporating love into my life, whatsoever. Joy! What a wonderful gift and…

Light Inside the Darkness: Musings on Meditation and Energy Work
The Cave Lie down and close your eyes, relax your muscles and pay attention the colors behind your eyes. Feel yourself drifting down, down, as if you were a gentle leaf falling from a tree. See the leaf in your mind’s eye, follow it to the ground and realize you’re standing in forest, slowly walking a worn path through the trees, a gentle breeze ruffling your hair. A tall mountain looms in the distance. As you walk, you realize you’re heading for a clearing near the base of the mountain. You step out of the forest and a summer sun, bright and warm, lights up your face and chest. You…
