Wild Whispers Oracle is a beautifully designed and illustrated deck that focuses on the sun’s position in the sky, rather than the lunar phase, which is a nice break from the typical lunar-themed decks that are common. The deck is structured to fit the Sun’s pattern of rising, setting and the different phases those happen at. Having this structure within the deck allows for different sets of cards to shed light on the different parts of the self through an illuminated lens. The wisdom within the cards is based on the imagery, creatures, plants, and habitat of the desert. I find this beautiful, personally, as the desert is dry, but also fertile; I refer you to Ancient Egyptian myth and culture for examples.

I really found the artwork, art style, color pallette and imagery of the cards to enlightening, beautiful, and inspiring. These cards don’t sugar coat when things are difficult, but there is alchemical advice in the guidebook for each card, including basic exercises, rituals and the like to go along with each card, further adding to the value and depth of the readings you’ll get with this deck. While it’s not predictive, it does shed light on areas you may not have looked at quite yet, and that alone can give you what you need to start moving forward.

Oracles tend to show us the forest, versus the trees; I’ve found this oracle does both, but in a general way, not so predictive as other methods like Tarot or Lenormand. This is true generally for oracle decks, but Wild Whispers Oracle seems to zero in on any issue you may have, and show you previously unexamined, and potentially successful, paths to navigate the various hurdles we all face in life. The guidebook itself is a trove of information, exercises and wisdom that the deck offers, and I would suggest reading it after you’ve intuitively read the cards first. The deck itself contains the wisdom, alchemy, power and magick of the desert in all its glory, and will be of particular interest to those who love the desert, California, and nature-based spirituality; there’s a slight indigenous influence that can be seen in the messages and imagery of the cards, without taking it to appropriative levels.

I loved this beautiful and powerful deck of cards, and plan to use it for my personal growth in times to come; it’s connected me with the more wild parts of myself, and even a few new spirit animal allies along the way. I can’t say enough great things about this deck, so you’ll just have to pick one up for yourself to see what I’m talking about! I give it a 5/5 Pentagram rating!
