Book Review- The HooDoo Tarot Workbook By- Tayannah Lee McQuillar
As someone who was born with a natural curiosity and drive to learn all there is to learn about everything, I absolutely love when a writer gives background and insight into the subject they are discussing; so it was only natural that I devoured every word of The HooDoo Tarot Workbook by Tayannah Lee Miller. The author does a fantastic job of not only explaining The HooDoo Tarot Deck, but also giving some insight and personal knowledge on the topics. This is a fantastic way to learn more about HooDoo even if you aren’t looking to learn a new deck. Her explanations about each person, plant, and card come from…

Book Review-The Language of Lenormand By- Erika Robinson
As someone fascinated with divination when offered the chance to read a book I haven’t heard of about divination I was excited, but at the same time I was sceptical. I find most “How To Read Tarot” books are either very specific with what each card means or ridiculously vague. It’s hard to get a feel of your own for the cards. I was happily surprised when reading Erika Robinson’s book. The author, Erika Robinson, does a fantastic job of focusing on how to read the cards in conjunction with each other, better than any how to book I’ve read. Reading about how the cards change as they, in her…

Book Review: Fortuna: The Sacred and Profane Faces of Luck by Nigel Pennick
Overview of Fortuna Nigel Pennick, a well known expert and author of pagan and occult subjects, published Fortuna with Destiny Books, a division of Inner Traditions Publishing. The material presented is historically accurate and informative, going through periods of humanity and how luck was perceived, as well as different oracle systems throughout the ages. Pennick does include some practical information that a modern practitioner of divination could use, such as geomantic figures, numerology lists, and a list of common epithets of Fortuna that could be called upon by a modern pagan, or anyone looking for divine help navigating life’s decisions and ups and downs, with simple but effective techniques. With Fortuna, Pennick…

Witches Through History Grimoire And Oracle Deck
The Book and the deck are gorgeously illustrated. I love how the author/artist evokes a sense of folktale whimsy through both the book and deck with the individualistic and expressive artwork. Now to the book. Though well written and interesting, it was rather vague in certain areas. The biographies of the historical witches were well researched and presented in an engaging fashion, however. I would have liked to see him expand from the Eurocentric/American subjects he chose to include histories from multicultural settings. So we might learn history and archetypes from around the world and have a broader understanding of such. The author also has a good grasp on the…

Tarot with Lady Saoirse
For Samhain 2023 Bright Blessings, I write this as we are about to begin another week where the days get over 90 degrees here in Central Ohio. This shit was all supposed to be over with last month, but we got hit with more heat. It could be worse. Hurricane weather hit Florida, and affected the sea island areas nearby, and people have lost homes. Wildfires have raged in Canada, blanketing other countries in dangerous smoke, and Hawaii is grieving the burning of Lahaina. The earth is burning, and I am one of the people who believes human beings are to blame. Some people say that as you get older,…

Road to Runes
Road to Runes: Making a Rune Set Runes have been used for divination for many years, and are often incorporated into Norse-inspired magic and spiritual practices. While there are many digital tools for drawing runes, it’s normal to want to have a physical set of your own if you want to use them regularly. That way, you can draw a rune wherever you are, even if you’re in the middle of the woods or high up a mountain—although perhaps don’t go as far as to try and use them while hanging from a tree! One of the cheapest and most satisfying ways to get your own runes is…

Road to Runes
Two Runes Together In the last issue of PaganPagesOrg, we looked at the power of a single rune reading. As I learn the runes myself, slowly it has to be said, I love to look at the different ways the runes can be read together. Just as a single rune can give a fast, intuitive answer to a simple question or circumstance, two runes together could provide either more detail or perhaps two polarized viewpoints on the same situation. Ways to Draw Two Runes There are plenty of different ways to either draw runes yourself or get them drawn and explained by an experienced reader. You can purchase physical…

Tarot with Lady Saoirse
Lughnasadh 2023 Bright Blessings! If you are reading this column, chances are, you have been to a psychic reader before, or you are looking into going soon. Some people do a regularly scheduled reading with a trusted reader to have good guidance for their decision making on a regular basis, and other people see readers whenever they feel like they should. Some people say the worst time to see a reader is when you are in the middle of a crisis or emotional meltdown, but sometimes, those are the times you need the support of a psychic most. Regardless of when or why you are seeing a psychic, there…
