She Who is All – The Goddess of Ten Thousand Names
The Korrigan While the Korrigan, or Korrigans, were not necessarily Goddesses themselves, depending upon which myth and/or legend you believe, they were most definitely Her priestesses, and yes, The Korrigan, alone, may have been a Goddess. In France, Korrigan was the name of the Goddess of underground springs and wells. It was rumored that She was the grand-daughter of a great Druid Priestess. She was beautiful and She was radiant. Her powers were strongest at night, when she appeared as a Maiden. During the day, in her guise as the Crone, her powers waned. She was said to be not only beautiful, but dangerous; however, the danger was never…

WitchCrafting: Crafts for Witches
Party Favors Merry meet. For a Samhain event last year, I made party favors, copying an idea I found on Pinterest that came from Mug Pie Studio’s blogspot. You will need: paper in desired colors (I used purple, white, green and orange.) small plastic bags (I used 3×4-inch craft bags with a ziplock I found on eBay.) chocolate chips Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal candy corn miniature marshmallows a stapler I designed labels, six to a page that was held horizontally – Monster Scabs, Ghost Poop, Witch Warts and Jack O’lantern Teeth – printed, cut and folded them. Bags were filled about half to two-thirds of the way with the chips,…

Tarot Talk
I’m in a Major Arcana kind of mood, so let’s talk about The Wheel, also known as The Wheel of Fortune. First, let’s review some terms. There are 22 Major Arcana cards in a Tarot deck, with numbers from 0 to 21; the Majors usually deal with broader and more far-reaching life experience issues, archetypes that are easy for us to identify with and connect with at some point in our lives. An archetype (pronounced “ark eh type”) is a generic, idealized model of a person, an object, or a concept which can be copied, patterned, or imitated. The term archetype often refers to one of two concepts: a “stereotype,”…

Sacred Place, Sacred Space
Goddess Temples in the U.S. By Susan Morgaine As someone who practices a Goddess-centered Spirituality, I decided to research Goddess Temples that are open in the United States. The Goddess Temple of Ashland, Oregon (Photo Credit: Temple Website) The Goddess Temple in Ashland seems to be an absolutely beautiful place, one that has something for every Goddess woman. The Temple dome has a large altar with a window hearth and space for dancing, music, prayer and meditation. Each season, the altar is taken apart and renewed. You are welcome to create your own sacred space within the Dome. The grounds also boast a full ritual immersion pool, where the…

Short Story: Kiara, Episode 13
KIARA EPISODE 13 Cook carefully removed the bandage to change the poultice as Kiara slept. The child was no longer feverish and was in a deep peaceful sleep. When she cleaned the area and saw no sign of either a wound or a scar, she began praying and making the sign of the cross over and over again. Just at that moment the door gave way to the goblins lair and she jumped with fright as the noise rang through the house. Kiara awoke and smiled at her. Somehow, the smile brought tears of relief. Then the girl was standing beside her and gave her hug. “Thank you! You must…

Tarot Talk
Time to head back to the Minor Arcana; let’s talk about the Seven of Pentacles this month. As stated above, the Seven of Pentacles is a Minor Arcana card, so we know right away that the message offered by this card will most likely be more immediate in nature, or will most likely be connected to more day-to-day issues. We should remember however that every message, no matter how insignificant or mundane on the surface, can also possibly be a symptom of a deeper or wider issue; nothing in the Minor Arcana is in any way minor in nature. The image on the Seven of Pentacles can give us valuable…

Spiralled Edges
Spiralled Edges: Do Pagans Have Free Will? Every time I think I have something figured out about myself, my Pagan practice, or the Gods something invariably happens to make me thing – do I still believe that? Recently, I’ve been considering the idea of Free Will. Philosophers and religious scholars from every religion have been cussing and discussing it for centuries. Free Will or Pre-Destiny? Do we make the choices in our life, or are out paths laid out for us well in advance of our arrival. Or, is it somewhere between these two extreme ideas? Many years ago, I was talking to a friend (Religion and culture: Hindu)…

Celebrating the Old Ways in New Times
Mabon 2016 for Celebrating the Old Ways in New Times Bright Blessings! Mabon, or Autumnal Equinox always sneaks up on me. It is August 19, and while our tomato and cucumber harvest is going well, I can hardly believe that in a little over a month, we will be harvesting even more, and we’ll be quickly headed to Samhain! An especially harsh Winter is forecast for this year. I suppose that is the price some of us in Central Ohio will just have to pay for the fact last year’s Winter was quite mild! I was told the insects were heavier this year as a result of the mild Winter-…
