Aramid’s Cauldron
While everyone is busy working to use more holistic recipes into their family’s diets, a lot of times we forget about our four legged friends. Here is just one of the recipes I personally feed my dogs, and their vet says it has really done wonders for them. Turkey Special Recipe Ingredients •1 lb. ground turkey •6 c. water •2 c. brown rice •1/2 c. of frozen broccoli, carrots and cauliflowers. •1 t. dried rosemary Place the water, ground turkey, rice, and rosemary into a large saucepan. Me,Myself and I, Notes from a Solitary Practitioner
When things are going well in life it seems somehow easier to forget the practice’s we follow. For the past few year’s I have tried to be thankful on a daily basis and have used a ritual from The Craft Companion by Dorothy Morrison: Light a white candle and incense and say the following: I give you thanks for all you do For obstacles and smooth roads too For challenges that make me grow And all the pleasant things that show That you are looking aftr me I thank you Ancients Blessed Be! Then a few months ago I decided to write and implement my own Thanksgiving ritual also: Wise…

Interweavings
Mother’s Day for the Great Mother May is full of flowers and the promise of growth and abundance. How fitting that we honor mothers during this month. No matter your relationship with your earthly mother, it is a time to honor and celebrate the Divine Mother. The energy and movement of spring cleaning is the perfect start to the growth cycle we are moving toward. Goodness knows the domestic queens in print and on television are on us to sweep the winter out of our homes. And it is exactly that visualization we on the eclectic path can use. As we use our tools of choice, be they handmade brooms…

At this time of year with Earth Day having just passed, and Beltane being here our thoughts turn to our gardens and the Earth Mother. In that spirit I would like to share this with all of you. The Great Sunflower project is an organization that I first heard about and began following 3 years ago. Due to the colony collapse of the honey bee, and the resulting damage to crops from the loss of pollinators, this is a project that’s not only fun it serves an awesome purpose. For 2011 they have started the “Add a yard to your yard” campaign. The way it works is you set aside…

Pagan Theology
Pagan Theology: Exegesis One big advantage any theologian of the book religions have is the they, um, have a book. That gives them a lot to talk about [1], even if it many times doesn’t make a heck of a lot of sense. The critical analysis of religious texts, more specifically Christian texts like the Bible, is called exegesis. The word derives from the Greek meaning “to lead out.” Exegesis takes on many different forms, it can mean the direct, religious, interpretation of the text either through inspiration or rational inquiry, or it can mean the “meta” analysis of the text where you look at the text independent of faith…

Prunings from the Hedge
Three Kinds of Knowledge in the Craft Three kinds of knowledge concern us in the Craft. These may be called knowing about, knowing by acquaintance, and knowing without words. They belong to the Maiden, Mother and Crone, respectively. There is also nescience, the sublimation of knowing, which belongs to the Goddess in her dark aspect. Although the power to know is assigned to the eastern quarter of Air, each element involves a form of knowing, and these are quite distinct. Knowing about is what we commonly consider knowing. It is knowing a subject, knowing something from the outside. It is the only type of knowing considered scientifically viable, for it…

Gems of the Goddess
Roman Huntress Diana She is the protector of all things wild; trees, animals, flowers, and most of all women. Her name itself means “Goddess”, a very blunt meaning, but one that fits her well in all the very literal things she did and still continues to do. She brought the ancient Romans the gift of magic and eternal motherly love. She taught them the importance of nature, and that the streams that run through the forest are the veins within her body. She is also associated with the goddess Artemis and is said to have ties with Hecate as well. In any form she came in the Romans loved their…

The Witch’s Cupboard
Dandelion Dandelion is a wonderful food as well as a beneficial medicine. It supports overall health by gently working to improve the functioning of the liver, gallbladder and urinary and digestive systems. It is excellent for cleansing the skin. An old companion of man, it has accumulated many names. Blowball and telltime refer to the seeds, priest’s crown to the stem after the seeds have flown, and swine’s snout to the unopened flower. And dandelion itself? The ‘teeth of the lion’ (dent de lion) explanation, from the appearance of the saw edged leaves or perhaps the tiny florets, is found in many languages. But there is also a case made…

Hally’s Hints
In The Spiritual Every day we are evolving, every day we are looking for new ways of expanding ourselves across the multitude of possibilities available. At times it has a weaving feeling of being in the physical and then moving out into the ethereal, and then back again. There can be calmness to this process, not unsimilar to the ebbs and flows of the life that we have become accustomed to. So, how can we take it further? How can we evolve beyond the limitations of our mechanistic boundaries to allow the true transformation within our spiritual self? Often we are limited not by what we believe we lack, but…
