The Moon Turns Red

Total lunar eclipse in Virgo on the evening of Thursday March 13th into early morning Friday the 14th. My Astrology Handbook tells me this is a potent full moon since it will show which life arrangements are working and which aren’t. This gives opportunities for new pathways, but be advised–they may appear unexpectedly. (Think Surprise Party Department.) And just so you know, Mercury turns retrograde on the 15th. Yeah, the party just never stops, does it?

The March full moon was called the Chaste Moon in medieval England, in deference to the ground thawing out after winter. All was thought to be clean and fresh, ready for Spring.

“Uncle Weyland, why does the Moon turn red in a lunar eclipse?” “Because, Little Pilgrim, our planet moves between the sun and moon in a total lunar eclipse and blocks the Moon’s light source.  The only sunlight getting to the Moon at that point has to go through the Earth’s atmosphere, and the more clouds or dust up there at that time, the more red the Moon will look.” “Gollies, Uncle Weyland, you’re a genius!” “Aw, Little Pilgrim.” (Head pats.) “You just said that cause it’s true….”

I suppose it’s possible to read too much, but this side of eyestrain I can’t really see how.  Fellow Townie the Brain and I recently traded paperbacks.  I gave him John Sanford’s Neon Prey and he gifted me with Night Sins and Dust to Dust, both by Tami Hoag. Crime thrillers all three!

MUSIC REVIEW

Japanese Breakfast, despite it’s name, is an American indie pop group. They’re from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They started in 2013 and are still going strong–I’ve caught them on Saturday Night Live and Music Choice–and are going on tour soon!
