Special Announcement from The Modern Merlin: My Hanged Man Era

Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well and that the week, and month, are getting off to an excellent start for you. Mercury stationed direct, and Venus is up next in less than a week, so things are looking up Astrologically. Every year, I do a “year ahead” tarot reading for myself, laying out a card for each month, respectively. April’s card this year, for me, is the Hanged Man. For months, I couldn’t understand exactly what was meant by that card, until certain events occurred, and began becoming overwhelming, thus voiding any creative impetus I may have had left in the tank. These events have forced me to put myself in a sort of “time out” from my usual routine, and work. I’ve come to call this period, even if short, my “Hanged Man Era”.

The reason for bringing this up is to let my readers know that I will be taking April of 2025 off from my creative writing, i.e., my columns. I will still be writing reviews and helping run the show here, but I have some things going on in my personal life that need immediate attention, and lots of it. Please bear with me, as I get my health back in order, and grieve the loss of a very dear family member as they transition from this life to the next. This is an extremely difficult time for me, and the Hanged Man’s message of taking time away to look at things from a different perspective, to change up the routine, and seek enlightenment in the darkest nights of the soul, rings truer now more than it ever has in my life. While I spent a lot of time mulling this decision over, I believe it’s the right one, at the end of the day.

I will re-assess how I’m feeling in May, and will update you all if I decide to take more time away still, after this month. In the meantime, I will be reading, learning and researching, and I plan to come back with some great content when I do return. Until then, I’m wishing everyone who celebrates a Happy Easter, a Happy 4/20, and any other holiday I may have missed. May the renewal of Spring encourage us all to renew ourselves, as well.
