The Beast

Fairly thin …and not very fat.
He lived in a very large cave,
And for his size, he was very brave.

From within the cave his cry sounded like thunder,
A legend grew that made people wonder…..
No one was brave enough to venture near the hollow,
Except one small boy…but no one would follow.

He would sneak near the opening and strain his ears,
His imagination would form his fears.
He saw an enormous shadow on the wall,
And turned around and stumbled with a fall.

He ran back and explained what he had seen,
Telling “this creature was large and very mean.”
A group of men were rounded up,
all of them shouting and all worked up.

They bravely marched to the cave,
To put this creature to it’s grave.
At the mouth they heard its roar,
and went in side to explore.

Their torches danced upon the walls,
They heard a thunder in it’s halls.
then they saw this massive beast,
A relieving laughter was released.
