Ghosts of 1600 When we hear the address 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue we think of the beautiful historic White House in Washington D.C. Construction first began in 1792 but it wasn’t until November 1800 that the house had its first occupants, President John Adams and his wife Abigail. Since then this grand building has been the home to our countries presidents and like any other home has seen its share of intense emotions and unforgettable events. As I’ve previously discussed, whenever there is that much emotion and history tied to a location it creates a perfect breeding ground for paranormal activity. The most common reports of a ghost in the White…

Phone Calls from the Dead The Chatsworth crash took place in California’s San Fernando Valley on September 12, 2008 when a commuter train collided with a freight train. This unfortunate even claimed the lives of 25 people, one of which was a 49 year old man named Charles E Peck who was headed to a job interview. Peck’s fiancé and other family members were on their way to pick him up when they heard about the crash on the radio. His family kept hope that he had survived the crash due to several calls from his cell phone. Peck’s fiancé, brother, sister, son and stepmother all received a total of…

Famously Haunted Part III Disneyland Aneheim, CA. Disneyland has always been known as the happiest place on earth, yet as with most historic places, there is a dark side. There are many stories of haunting in the Magic Kingdom. A dear friend of mine is a former cast member of Disneyland and here are some of the accounts from him and a few other employees. When we first enter the park we are greeted by a regal statue of Walt Disney himself, welcoming us to his land, his creation, and the place that some say he still resides. There is a particular train, engine #2, said to have been Walt’s…

Famously Haunted Part II Queen Mary Long Beach, CA. The Queen Mary also known as the Grey Ghost, is located in the Long Beach Harbor. I have been lucky enough to visit this ship on several occasions and have had wonderful experiences each time. There is such a rich history behind the ship yet it has become all the more famous in its current state as a “Haunted Hotel”. What makes the Queen Mary Haunted? Let us start with her early days as a luxury liner The Queen Mary’s construction began in 1930, yet her first voyage was not until 1936 due to delays caused by the Great Depression. The…

Famously Haunted Part 1 Hollywood Being a native of Southern California, it was only natural for me to combine my fascination with the paranormal and my love of old Hollywood. There are so many ghost stories that tinsel town has to offer. Perhaps it is because Hollywood has always been a place filled with passion and desire; such strong emotions are bound to leave a lingering impression. First I would like to start with an interesting story that strangely combines two Hollywood tragedies that took place 37 years apart from each other. The blond bombshell actress Jean Harlow became famous for her lead role in the Howard Hughes film Hell’s…

Haunted Objects One of my favorite subjects under the wide umbrella of paranormal activity is haunted objects. Dolls, furniture, even paintings that seem to have a life of their own. How and why does this happen? One theory is when a person passes on there may be something they were very attached to, like a piece of furniture or childhood doll. This object may hold some familiarity for the deceased and the spirit may gravitate towards it if they are lost or confused. Objects may be part of a residual haunting as well, if someone sat and smoked a cigar in the same chair at a certain time every day,…

Are Talking Boards “Just Toys” Talking Boards, also known as Witch Boards or more commonly Ouija Boards have always been a controversial subject among almost everyone. Can these boards really be used to communicate with the other side, and if so, why are a lot of these boards sold through toy stores as “games” or novelty items? How did such things end up being marketed to young children and teens that are often inexperienced with the paranormal? In fact, a lot of people credit their first paranormal experience to the use of these boards. A few of these questions are answered in the history of the Talking Board. The Ouija…

Residual Haunting VS Intelligent Haunting There are quite a few different types of haunting, but I wanted to discuss two that are often misunderstood by those who are not in the field of paranormal research. Let’s look into the differences between a residual haunting and an intelligent haunting. A residual haunting can be best described as a recording, a moment in time that will continue to play out over and over again.. For example a person dealing with a residual haunting may mention they notice the same sound of a woman crying or the same smell of a cigar at a specific time every day. Nothing ever changes with this…
