Crone’s Corner
Meditation and Divining Incense: uses & recipes I used to shy away from sharing my personal experiences and practices with other people, but then I asked myself, “Why do you keep everything that you love all to yourself?” That’s when I decided to open a Facebook Group called “Pagan Plannertarium” and I started sharing my love of a working book of shadows and graphics that I create to make my working book everything that I want it to be. It is a work in progress and you can follow along with me in the other article under “crafts” Working Book of Shadows in PaganPagesOrg. My group eventually morphed into what…

Celebrating the Old Ways in New Times
May 2019 for Celebrating the Old Ways in New Times Bright Blessings I write this with a sore back from beginning the garden. I have planted seeds for snow peas, radishes, milkweed, and sunflowers so far, and a few packs of annuals as well. I nabbed more seeds, ordered three more seed catalogs, and got a couple of hot pink pots! Not bad for the first week of gardening. This year, I am doing the unthinkable! I am killing a mint plant! I’m doing it so I can pull a shrub behind it and use the space for more, well…PLANTS! The roots of the mint would take over the space…

Book Review – The Witch’s Guide to Wands: A Complete Botanical, Magical, and Elemental Guide to Making, Choosing, and Using the Right Wand by Gypsey Elaine Teague
Book Review The Witch’s Guide to Wands A Complete Botanical, Magical, and Elemental Guide to Making, Choosing, and Using the Right Wand by Gypsey Elaine Teague Published by Weiser Books Pages: 243 “The Witch’s Guide to Wands” is the reference book Gypsey Elaine Teague had been trying to find – one that explained the properties of the woods and metals from which wands are made. “You would not use a holly wand for a new moon ritual any more than you would use an ebony one for a full moon. If you want strength, then you would use oak and reserve the willow for resilience and survival spells,” Teague writes,…

GoodGod!
Meet the Gods: Neptune Merry meet. Neptune, the god of the sea and earthquakes, was one of the 12 major deities of the Roman pantheon. Poseidon was his Greek counterpart. Neptune was the son of Saturn. When Saturn was defeated, the world was divided among Neptune and his two brothers, Jupiter (Zeus) and Pluto (Hades). Jupiter got the sky, Pluto took the underworld and Neptune was given the sea. Neptune is known for his violent nature and volatile temperament. There are many stories portraying him as unpredictable and somewhat vindictive – and this is associated with the nature of the sea. Those characteristics also associated him with earthquakes, because the…

Wreathing the Wheel
Beltane, the Maypole, Interweaving For May, I’d like to talk about Beltane and the processing of weaving. If you’re familiar with the Celtic holiday of Beltane, then you already know that this holiday is often celebrated with a decoration that serves as ritual, dance, entertainment, and more: the Maypole. While the exact symbolism of the Maypole is disputed, it is generally considered to be a magical appeal for fertility, power, and transformative forces coming together. In the Tarot, this process may be symbolized by the Lovers in the Major Arcana, or the Four of Wands in the Minor Arcana: different forces coming together in a celebratory act to create something…

Oracle Deck Review – Vintage Wisdom Oracle by Victoria Moseley
Review Vintage Wisdom Oracle by Victoria Moseley If you are drawn to the Victorian Era, or to the energy of similar past eras, The Vintage Wisdom Oracle, will call to you. It is a 52 card deck inspired by feminine energies and guidance. This deck is not strictly Pagan based, it leaves its classification very open, in my opinion, so that people from many different faiths feel comfortable using it. For example, it uses words like “maiden, Higher Power, Goddess,” and also refers to the elements, intuition, and messages from Spirit. However, the author also references “Adam and Eve, the Kingdom of God”, and does have a card “The Guardian…
