Astro Report for January 2013

Mercury entered Capricorn

Monday, December 31, 2012 – 8:48 am EST

The Planet of Communication will enter the New Year with an air of caution. Don’t be afraid to speak up about what’s important, but measure your words. Be sure to express yourself with foundation or you will be ripped out from under your feet wondering what happened?

New Year’s Day

Tuesday, January 1, 2013 – 12:00 am EST

Today is the day to make resolutions, right? And the most difficult thing is keeping your promises (to yourself). And as it happens, the small Train of Mars, Sun, Pluto, Mercury and Venus slide thru the 3rd and 4th Houses. Mars takes action first in this lineup in the 4th House of Hearth and Home. Make your resolutions – write them down. With the Sun following right behind, it builds up an energy with Mars. However, as Mercury and Venus in the 3rd house of Communication begin to apply their energies with the Sun, the New Year will definitely be wonderful. And Mercury and Venus apply their energy with Pluto into the 4th House, too.

In simple terms, your personality gets enhanced by many aspects of transformation while experiencing action, devotion and expression. Enjoy the moment, because it will last for a couple of weeks. Add emotional transformation when the Moon is new on the 11th. You will be able to keep those resolutions with minimal effort.

Venus enters Capricorn

Tuesday, January 8, 2013 – 10:58 pm EST

Hedonistic tendencies tend to be more cautious. Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you. It will be easy to remain flirtatious, but find a way to express yourself with an amount of practicality. Inuendoes can be a blessing in disguise!

New Moon in Capricorn at 21 degrees

Friday, January 11, 2013 – 2:44 pm EST

Emotional bliss or blah? The New Moon can be a blessing due to the emotional change of pace, but Capricorn can put a stopper on this energy. Emotions offer new hope with practical measures. Be patient with those variable changes that you were expecting. They won’t be swift and sure as you anticipated, but emotional change is due to happen. Those resolutions are still attainable!

Mercury Conjunct the Sun in Capricorn at 28 degrees

Friday, January 18, 2013 – 3:12 am EST

Ah… the Planet of Communication joins forces with the powerful and personal Planet. Be ready to show off your best assets. Express yourself today and let yourself enjoy the moment of personal power and courage. You are on top of the world and the peak of your game. Find yourself and be a little daring.

Mercury enters Aquarius

Saturday, January 19, 2013 – 2:11 am EST

Mercury is quite compatable with this Air Sign! You may find yourself with original thoughts and abstract ideas. Go with the flow and be yourself. If you have been working on a project, today will be a day that you will be able to get over that proverbial hump. Break out of that mental block you have been in…

Sun enters Aquarius

Saturday, January 19, 2013 – 4:40 pm EST

If Mercury’s energy wasn’t enough to get you past some issues, then the Sun will boost you past those issues and then some. You will find today to be one of those days where you will be able to conquer any mental block. Creativity and intellectual acuity and lucidity will abound!

Full Moon in Leo at 7 degrees

Saturday, January 26, 2013 – 11:37 pm EST

Being the best person you can be is the rule of the day. Leo is all about being proud of who and what you are. Show off your pride. The Full Moon expands on that and allows you to come into fruition. You will have a healthy ego, so let it show! Share that pride among your family <OR> show off the family and the pride you have of them.

Full Moons of Native Lore

The Algonquian’s Wolf Moon is a lone Moon. The Wolf tends to come out of its den and seek food for sustenance throughout the winter, but the Full Moon in January can show off a blanket of snow on the ground, making it rather difficult to find food. The lonely Wolf bays at the Full Moon to express his feelings for hunger and for the illuminating Moon on the snow. The Wolf Moon tends to have more howling wolves than any other.

The Old Moon shows how dark and still the nights can be during the winter months. With nary a soul to share the blistering cold, the Moon shines above with a light that beckons, but folks and animals alike stay sheltered against the bitter cold. So, the Full Moon shines high above like an old man of the sky – like an Old Moon.

Jupiter goes Direct in Gemini at 6 degrees

Wednesday, January 30, 2013 – 3:22 am EST

The Planet of opportunity and luck finally comes out of its shell. When in Gemini, it is time to express your versatility and go with the flow of the Universe. When opportunity knocks, take advantage of it. What is even more significant about Jupiter going direct is that today marks the day when ALL the Planets are direct. There are no retrograde Planets until Saturn and Mercury go retro next month.

In conclusion, January is going to be a remarkable month. Go with the flow with an air of caution. Be the best person you can be and make resolutions that are easily attained!
