    Interview with Psychic Brittany Quagan

Interview with Psychic Brittany Quagan Elfin empath goes from panic attacks to helping others heal. Brittany Quagan knows the exact moment her whole life changed. She was 22 and working for a corporate insurance company. One day, while having a meltdown in her cubical, a woman she would later learn was a psychic medium and who has since become her friend, told her she the problem was not anxiety. Quagan argued her therapist would say otherwise, but the woman told her, “You are feeling the energy from everyone around you.” As strange as it sounded, Quagan knew it was true. “It’s because when I was a little kid I always…

    Crystal Connections

Fluorite Ah Fluorite, a crystalline beauty that is just a downright happy stone. With purple being my favorite color it’s hard not to love a stone that so often showcases varying hues of it. Though Fluorite is known as a mental stone, each color has additional healing properties. The wide range of colors found in these crystals include purple, blue, green, clear, white, yellow, pink, red and black. Nearly encompassing every color in the rainbow, how could you not love this prismatic mineral? As you can see in the photo that I’ve included here, the pieces that I have range in colors from purple, to blue, to green. Most are…

    MagickalArts

Lunar Magick: Part Three This is the third of a series of articles that explores our connection to the Moon and how to use HER energy for magick and spiritual growth. This month we’ll take a look at ways to create devotional practices with the Lunar energies…..         The Moon rides high in the sky as Her light floods down bathing me in her embrace. I stand in the cold, cloak wrapped around my body With feet planted firmly on Earth. I breathe in deeply taking in the energy of the air Around me and lifting arms, fingers stretching up To hold the orb of milky whiteness.…

    Process & Spirit

There is an old Chinese proverb: “When the wrong man uses the right means, the right means work in the wrong way.” This saying reveals the missing element in spiritual disciplines that do not bear fruit. You may read all the manuals of shamanism and witchcraft, and so forth, that you like, and you may try practicing one particular discipline consistently, following the steps laid out for you in the manual, and yet achieve only weak, spotty results at best. These disciplines all seem to require a commitment greater than one is willing to make in order to be effective. We are living in a mechanistic age, a time when…

    The Kitchen Witch

The Magic of Bread Pudding One of my favorite cookbooks is A Kitchen Witch’s Cookbook, by Patricia Telesco, originally published in 1994 and currently in its sixth printing and also available on Kindle. I bought it brand-new when it first came out when I was living in Cleveland Heights, Ohio at a wonderful bookstore called “Gifts of Athena” – I think it’s still there, on Lee Road. Fabulous store – if you are ever in the Cleveland area, check it out. There’s three parts to the cookbook. The first part talks of the magic of the pantry and the basic kitchen witchery. The second part has all the recipes –…

Book Review: Pagan Portals: Moon Magic by Rachel Patterson

Book Review: Pagan Portals: Moon Magic by Rachel Patterson       Pagan Portals is, as the name suggests, a series of books (by various authors) with the aim of introducing various aspects of Paganism. Moon Magic seems a staple in this diet, as there are few branches of Paganism that don’t require at least some familiarity with the cycles of the moon. My initial concern is that this book may have little to offer the experienced practitioner. Just looking at the contents page dispels these fears instantly. Not only does Rachel (also known as Tansy Firedragon) cover what I would think of as ‘The Basic’ such as the phases…

    The Kitchen Witch

Holiday Hash and Eggs It’s the holidays and you have lots of holiday leftovers! So let’s make something fun for brunch! One of my favorites is hash and eggs. Of course, the easy way is to simply open a can of Mary Kitchen Corned Beef Hash and heat it in a pan and cook some eggs with it – which is always really good! But hash is really quite easy to make. Whether you have leftover corned beef, turkey, ham, roast beef or venison, mixing up a quick version of hash is easy and fun. I made this particular hash out of the leftovers of a turkey dinner but you…

Book Review: The Only Wiccan Spell Book You’ll Ever Need by Marian Singer & Trish MacGregor

Book Review:  The Only Wiccan Spell Book You’ll Ever Need by Marian Singer & Trish MacGregor   First off, I found this book very informative and well written. I was quite impressed by the amount of information they fit in such a small book. I was pleasantly surprised. The book starts off with their explanation of what Wicca is. “Wicca is an ancient practice, a gentle, earth-oriented religion that seeks truth and understanding, and a way of life meant to affect inner change. Yes, it’s a framework for using magickal powers. It also involves worshipping ancient Pagan deities, and it recognizes the duality of the Divine as one force that…

Marcia Stewart:  As with many other pagan/witch folk that I speak with, I was raised in a Christian home, however, it never really resonated with me. During exploration of my spiritual beliefs, in 2000, I came across Earth-based religions, paganism, and witchcraft. I consider myself…
